If you are looking for a far infra-red bio-mat, buy this one. I bought this mat 18 months ago and I am absolutely convinced it was a great investment. The quality of the mat is excellent. It is easily transportable and stored. And, its health applications are numerous.I have used this mat to help ease the arthritis in my back with great results. After a couple of days use the pain is completely gone. When it returns, the mat easily eliminates it. I have also used the mat to help with a stomach problem I have called SIBO. I take the mat and place it over my stomach either vertically or horizontally. At high temperatures I believe it helps to eliminate the bad bacteria in my gut.I also believe that the combination of the amethyst stones, infra-red technology and heat has helped me with other issues including a lung problem I had which has since disappeared.The Charmed FIR Mat is an excellent product. However, the most important reason for buying this product is because you get to do business with Barbara Carmichael, the Owner of Sensible Decisions, Inc. Barbara runs her business old school. Her business model is based on providing the best customer service. She sincerely believes in and strives for the benefit of her customers. That’s why she sells a quality product and that is why she stays close to her customers when there is a problem. In today’s virtual environment of the Internet and virtual transactions, this type of human touch is hard to find.I had a couple issues with my mat and Barbara was totally responsive and working with me to solve the problems. After the first problem was resolved another surfaced and Barbara again assured me she would take care of the matter. Sure enough, she decided that as rare as it was for my issue to manifest itself, she felt obligated to send me a new mat. No questions, no delays, no worries.Kudos to Barbara Carmichael and Sensible Decisions, Inc. My most sensible decision was buying my mat from her. I got this mat to help with treatment of chronic tightness in piriformis, hamstrings and IT band. Yoga and topical magnesium had been helping, but not enough. Warm muscles are more inclined to stretch than cold ones, so I got the Charmed mat to help boost the results I'd been getting from yoga and magnesium. I've been using it daily for a month, and the mat is helping. I became very aware of how much it's helping when I quit using it for two days recently when the weather got warmer. The muscles tightened up again, and it was very uncomfortable and painful to walk. I believe long term it will help my yoga exercises to stretch the muscles more permanently.In addition to helping with tight muscles, it helps me sleep better. During the winter, my condo doesn't get warm enough, so it's great to have the Charmed mat keep me warm when TV watching and sleeping.The mat is very good quality. I'd seen the Richway Biomat at my chiropractor's office, and the Charmed mat looks almost identical. What may explain the price difference: (1) The Biomat has a very complicated, programmable controller with a timer. The Charmed mat has a very simple one: on/off, more heat or less heat and it doesn't take a degree in computer programming to figure out. (2) The Biomat comes with a hard sided case. The Charmed Mat comes with a nylon, zippered cover. (3) The Biomat comes with a removable, washable cover pad. The Charmed mat does not. The washable pad would be nice to have, but I just cover mine with a towel. I'm happy to pay $449 without the extras for the Charmed mat rather than pay $750 for the Biomat with extra stuff I don't care about or need.I'm very satisfied with the purchase and would recommend it to friends. If I had it to do over again, I'd definitely buy it again.

I went to a retreat in October of 2017 and someone brought the $1200 version of this heat therapy. It was amazing and I knew I needed one, only I could not afford $1200. I researched all the ones on the market and after reading other reviews I purchased this one. I have not been disappointed, it is just as good as the $1200 one. After using it for over a year now and having other friends and family members loving it too, I am reordering and giving it as Christmas presents this year. They say the Amethyst crystals relax the body, with detoxing, immunity boosting tourmaline, and generates negative ions to soothe, stimulates and cleanse tissues--I definitely believe something great happens. I can feel achy and yucky and lay down on it and it's going to relax me so much, I quickly fall asleep. After enjoying this one so much I ordered me the smaller one that has a belt so you can wear it--this one is lighter in weight to pack in my suitcase for traveling. After ordering a Christmas present, I received in the mail a thank you card from Barbara Carmichael with a phone number--this makes my purchase feel much more personal and I feel if there's a problem I have a contact person to reach out to, not just customer service at Amazon. So, would I recommend this, definitely YES!UPDATE:Because I loved my Charmed Fir Mat so much and use it daily, I ordered myself a smaller one that I use in my truck and on trips. Then, I ordered 3 for Christmas presents. One did not work. I called the number that was on the Thank You note from Barbara Carmichael. I didn't expect to hear from her until next week because it was a Saturday and going into the New Year Weekend. She called me back within an hour and I couldn't have asked for better service. Customer service is worth a whole lot. I really appreciate doing business with someone that takes care of business that quickly. I would not hesitate to order from her again. One day I hope to buy the one that's the size of a single bed so I can get the full-body effect of this awesome mat.
