Millers ForgeCat Claw Scissor, 3-Inch

I ordered these because I didn't like how most cat nail clippers have plastic handles and are, frankly, ugly.The stainless steel is aesthetically pleasing and the tool is pleasing to look at, but on the first try it became clear that the grind of the cutting edges was absolutely awful. Rather than cleanly cutting the nail the blades crush the nail, making it nearly inevitable that the claw will shred and expose the nail's quick causing pain to the cat. The cutting edges were practically flat and were misaligned, sort of like the teeth of a dog with a severe underbite.As it happens, I had a file used for sharpening chainsaw blades, and a decent mechanic's bench vise. In a few minutes I'd managed to re-grind the blades to have a usable curve that aligned fairly well. It's kind of ridiculous that it had to be done at all, as these details are consistently done right on most clippers.If you have the necessary tools lying around and practice with sharpening saws or chisels, it's not a huge deal to fix them. But really, should you have to do that right out of the box?

I recently purchased this product and it is not worth the money. The wrapper says "made in the USA" ON the scissors itself it says "made in Pakistan" what the heck??? I have a quality pair that I have been using for at least 20+ years. These look the same, but they do not work. When you go to cut the claw they catch and cannot come together to slice. Terrible workmanship.''Shame on you Millers Forge! I will not recommend or purchase this model again. They are not even worth one star, and getting them out of the package was difficult. I am very disappointed.

I bought these for my mother when she adopted her new cats this year because I’ve used my pair for years and years. They are the best cat nail clippers- easy to use and still sharp since ~2005! Unlike other nail clippers out there, these allow a clear view of the nail so it is not cut too short. One cut of the quick can make a cat much harder to handle next time you want to cut nails.

Miller Forge used to be known as the best equipment around but the scissors I got were poorly constructed so the guillotine cutter blades didn't meet well enough to be used on any cat's claws. I was angry and disappointed and had to go to my original pair which is getting very old. It seems the epidemic of poorly made products is far too rampant now to get decent equipment any more. Though this wasn't expensive, I'm reluctant to buy another.

I am a veterinary technician, and I bought this to replace the cat nail scissors I have been using for the last 5 years. I have always been happy with Miller's Forge products in the past, so I trusted in their brand name. I am extremely disappointed with this product, as it is duller than the pair I've had for 5 years!! I won't be so quick to purchase this brand again!!

Have always loved Millers Forge. They cut beautifully and stay sharp for a long time.Not these. Super dull. So hard to cut I felt guilty using them on my cats. Didn’t even bother trying my older cats thicker nails in the back.

Had to return this due to sharp metal spur on cutting edge. Otherwise, these seem well made.

I had to replace a pair of Miller's Forge claw scissors I purchased many years ago as they finally lost their edge. This replacement pair is terrible. It has been shredding our cats' nails. What happened to the quality?
