Best capo on market.
Works well and doesn’t cause issues like other capos.

Best upgrade imaginable
I do a ton of research before buying anything. I recently bought a higher end guitar (Martin HD-28) and wanted to upgrade all the supporting pieces, including the capo. I have been using Kyser spring capo for years and had some issues with it keeping the guitar in tune while on and right after taking off. This Shubb has fixed that entirely. I head the spring capos arent as friendly in the long term on the neck and frets, Schubb fixes that as you control the tension. I could not recommend this capo more and it look gorgeous as well. Also, when trying to play certain chords with the Kyser (think B7 type) if was very difficult with it's design, the top level would get in the way of my hands and I would have to move my hand in an unnatural way to compensate and play the chord, Schubbs low profile also completely fixes this. No brainer!

Shubb vs Kyser - not even close
Shubb brings new joy to working with capos. The bulkiness of Kyser, which I LOVED for the maneuvarability, is irritating, and I didn't notice it until I tried the Shubb. The Kyser gets in the way, both visually and, slightly but importantly, physically. The Shubb is so low key, you do NOT feel intimidated to put fingers whereever you want, as close to fret zero (i.e. the knuckle or what have you), because the schubb will not interfere. It's close to a dream. In fact, if using the Shubb for drop low E (i.e., put shubb all the way across the highest 5 strings), can even fret the low E string at the 2nd fret i.e. play what looks like a e minor chord (it's an F# minor of course), and fret the root at 2nd fret. Love it. You have to descend index finger straight down, but hey, it's doable and that's all I care about. I haven't really tried using the thumb, doubt it's work.Any way, great capo, and dialing in the tension, AND the ability to put capo on strings first, and THEN clip the clamp to not bend strings accidentally is so nice.Am not worried that this is a two-handed capo to put on. Not a big deal. Doesn't slow me down.I actually put my kyser away five minutes in, much as I liked it; the shubb is uber professional i.e. glitch free.Shubb for the win, you deserve to at least try it, I say you'll never look back.

Outstanding capo- exactly what I needed
I bought this capo after reading some of the previous product reviews, and I am very pleased with it. I was looking for a capo that was smaller and that would not get in the way of fingering near the fret to which it was attached, and this certainly fit the bill. I also conducted my own tuning tests with the capo in place, after reading some of the comments from other users. I was impressed to see how the pitch changes slightly depending on the tension, and was able to set the tension perfectly with the thumbwheel adjustment, as advertised, to keep the guitar in tune with the capo in place. I was so impressed that I also bought the counterpart intended for classical (nylon strings) guitars, which generally have a wider and a flat fretboard (compared to steel-string guitars that generally have a slight radius to the fretboard). That one works equally well. Some other reviewers have indicated that this capo can work fine on a classical style guitar, and with some careful attention to placement, this is true. I found that the neck was a bit too wide on my own classical guitar to do this without more fiddling than was practical for me on an on-going basis, though, so I bought the second capo as well. It is just enough wider, and has the flat (instead of curved) bar, allowing for more uniform pressure on all of the strings, and was worth it to me. But, in a pinch, you can make this one (the S1 model) work for both guitar styles. I haven't tried it on an electric guitar, but I expect it will work equally well for that application.

After years of using various capos, this one is the best I've used!
Small, durable, and easy to use. While this isn't a "quick-adjust" capo where you can change its position literally as you're playing, it does offer way more than the "quick-change" capos can.1. It is adjustable, which is its #1 feature. No more bending your strings to the point of putting them out of tune. As you move down the fret board, you can increase the pressure as necessary. As you move back up, you can decrease it. This capo allows you to provide just the right amount of pressure needed to accomplish its task.2. The finish and build quality of this capo is great! I own both the stainless steel version, as well as the black version and they both are extremely durable and have held up to many hours of playing on the road.3. The rubber padding is not the cheap kind you'll find on some capos (some actually use some sort of foam which will obviously deteriorate over time. Instead, it uses a nice, solid piece of rubber-like compound that feels durable and doesn't discolor or damage the strings. One thing worth mentioning: This is not a very wide capo as some of them are, specifically the Kaiser brand capos so you do need to pay attention to how you're attaching it to ensure you have all strings covered. It's a very mild inconvenience and after some use, you'll be able to do it without even thinking about it. If you need a wider capo, Shubb does make them.I've been playing guitar for almost 20 years and have used almost every capo you can find and this one is simply the best. I think you'll be satisfied with your purchase as I was.

My favorite capo, keeps strings in tune.
I have tried dozens of capos. I use them exclusively. I think Shubb to be is the best at keeping the guitar in tune. It's annoying for your high strings to be out, especially for a fingerstyle player.

I have a lot of Capos and 20 + guitars.
I've been playing professionally, solo acoustic for 32 years. As I use various tunings and utilize a capo on quite a few tunes, i have to rely on a product that is fast, durable and will not alter the tuning too much when moving from fret to fret. This is definitely excellent and quite popular among professional musicians. As an alternative and slightly better, take a look at the G7 Capo.
