Joshua Tree Sun Stick - SPF 50 Natural Sunscreen for Exposed Faces

No, I won't ask for forgiveness for the pun...Anyways, this stuff is great, small enough to toss in a pocket or the lid of a backpack, and powerful enough to stand up to the Florida Trail. It's really, really good.

This is my second stick I absolutely LOVE this sun stick. I have super sensitive/reactive skin. I have dermititis and eczema and am VERY sensitive to fragrance. I was on the highest prescription Tretinoin and hydroquinone and did acid peels at the dermatologist office when my skin is peeling and raw and this was the only sunscreen that didn't burn my face. I also love the stick formula. I use it on long 8-10 hour hikes when hiking the highest peaks in California! The stick formula makes it easy to reapply I've been climbing for hours. Doesn't feel heavy or greasy on my skin. Doesn't leave a white cast--an issue with other zinc sunscreens. I have tan complexion so it might show a bit if you have fair complexion since it is a tiny bit of beige tint due to the natural composition of ingredients. It has a soft lavender scent due to the essential oils that are in the product.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I gave this stick a try after having tried several other sunscreen sticks on my very fair blonde 5 year old twin boys. Living in Florida makes it hard to even just go outside without sunscreen and I had to fight with them to just get it on them. Then, I tried this. They LOVE it. The way it smells, (wonderful) the way it looks (not at all white) and how easy it is to apply a generous amount at one time. What I love about it is it didn't break anyone out (we all have sensitive skin) and it STAYS on. These boys really sweat and it is sweat proof. It stays and stays and stays even during extreme sun and at the beach. It also doesn't feel all that heavy on your face and my husband (who has darker skin) uses it on his face with no chalky or white residue. I bought 3 more sticks to put in bags so I am never without it. This is the best stuff on the market.

First of all, don't judge it by its size. Given its packaging I expected it to be the size of a deodorant stick, and it's about 1/4 the size, but I was surprised by how many applications it delivers, and pleasantly surprised at how effective it was during my snorkeling trips in Maui. Best of all it's coral safe. Hawaii is debating outlawing the sunscreens that are damaging the coral, there's a big campaign there against common sunscreen ingredients, and this one is just fine.I couldn't find anything like it in the shops I visited in Hawaii (or frankly, even in California before I left home), so buy it here before your trip.

I'm about to buy my second one of these. It's an indispensable item I keep in my purse in case I find myself sitting or walking in the sunshine. Then I just rub it on my cheeks, nose, and the rest of my face, and it keeps me from burning. The formulation is great. You don't even see it when it goes on (even over makeup). There's no greasiness or shine. And it really does protect my fair facial and décolletage skin from even intense sun.

Smells a little funny, but goes away after a little. Works amazing in winter Hawaii weather.

Product is very small for the price. Thought it would be closer to the size of deoderant stick, but it’s smaller than a travel size stick. Haven’t used it yet, so can’t comment on how it goes on, efffectiveness, etc.

I first got a stick of this for free from a Patagonia rep at a film festival, and had to buy more as it has become my go-to sunscreen. I have to say I love this stuff. It is all natural and Zinc Oxide based. The stick is not white and therefore goes on skin color. No more ghost face! I am also amazed at how long these sticks last. I am a field biologist and work outside literally 7 days a week, and this stuff still lasts for months (mainly just using on my face). It also smells great. All around a great product. I just wish it wasn't so expensive.
