Minecraft: Essential Handbook (Updated Edition): An Official Mojang Book Hardcover – July 28, 2015

My son is really interested in Minecraft recently. He read Minecraft books at school and wants to have his own copy. I don't share his passions, but like to see him reading and study something with keen interest. And these books, especially the used ones, don't cost too much. I like to see kid's face and eyes light up when they get interesting books they like to read over and over again.

I was expecting a cheap black and white paperback. This book is really nice! It's a good quality hardcover book. Every page is full color with lots of pictures, charts and graphs. The paper is thick and glossy. It's more like a reference than something you'd read cover to cover, though. It seems like something you'd keep forever to look back on.My second grader like to read it by his computer and then try what he's learned from the book in the actual game. It's not written for children, though. There are some difficult words for his age. But any Minecraft enthusiast will enjoy looking through this and even it's above your child's reading level, he or she will still get something out of it ... and learn some new vocabulary to boot. Great purchase!

my son collects these books and really enjoys reading them - which is amazing because he's not really an avid reader. I will try just about any book that will hopefully start him on a journey towards a love of reading.As far as content, these are information books for Minecraft users, but I wouldn't say I'm experienced in the game enough to know much. What really matters to me is finding books that my 8 year old can enjoy and wants to read. So these books fit the bill and I plan to buy the whole collection. Amazon has the best price so far that I've found.

Easy enough for my 7-8 yr old son to read. Obvious obsession with minecraft helped but got him to read some nonfiction he is interested in. We picked up some cool tips and info for when we both play

It opens and closes flawlessly with lots of words and pictures inside. Definitely a good quality book.

This guide book is very informative about starting Minecraft! It goes as far as telling you how to survive your first night and how to face the mobs and animals. It goes in depth on how and how not to kill a mob and even shows exactly how many health points they have. The book also shows you how to farm and gives you tips on building shelter and on how to craft certain items and how many uses that item serves and even some little known facts. It a book that's great for beginners and also great for players with experience with the game to get more knowledge on defeating mobs and those little known tips.

We bought this instructional book for our third grader who is a budding Minecraft enthusiast. When the set sold out at her school book fair before she could buy a copy, we turned to Amazon. These books are excellent tutorials for kids using Minecraft at school and home. Our nine-year-old is able to follow along and implement the tutorials with a minimal amount of help. The bindings are library quality and the pictures make it easy to understand what the author is referencing. The durability is much appreciated as the book frequently travels to school and back, and is used by classmates as well.
