- HOW IT’S MADE: Kelp is sustainably harvested by our friends in Stonington, Maine. This remote island is surrounded by some of the purest water on the Atlantic coast and is home to a diverse community of marine life and dense kelp forests. The kelp is submerged in fresh water and aerated to assist in the extraction process.
- WHY COLD-WATER EXTRACTED? The aerated cold-water extraction process allows us to craft a truly all-natural, pH neutral, potent extract that is shelf-stable with only two ingredients: kelp and water. Other kelp extracts rely on chemicals such as potassium hydroxide to accelerate the extraction process or phosphoric acid for shelf stability and to adjust pH.
