It works
The cat was dead set on destroying the upholstered bench I bought for the dining room. I originally tried covering the bench with a throw, which worked for about a week until the cat learned how to burrow under the throw. Plus I’m thinking, why own an upholstered bench if I’m just going to cover it? Then I found this stuff.Applied the tape per instructions as soon as it arrived. It’s only been one week, so I am not confident enough yet to take it off. The cat is not amused. She sits on the floor and paws at it, like ooh…sticky…why is it sticky? Then tries to bite it off, but so far, hasn’t had any success. I placed multiple strips of tape along the top, bottom, and sides of the bench (about 40 in wide). The cushion was never an issue, and I kept the throw on the seat because I just want to deter scratching. I enjoy the cuddles while I am working at the table. I still have plenty left on the roll in case I need to apply more, but it seems to be working. I don’t know how long I’ll keep it on. I gave up after one month of aluminum foil and a super soaker on the counter…so we’ll see. I will probably use some at Christmas time. If I don’t stick it to the back of the poang first because that, too, is right next to a scratching post so of course she uses the back of the chair instead of her fancy cactus. However, there is enough product left to probably be able to do both.So yeah, it’s pricey, but there is a lot of product and it’s less expensive than replacing/redoing the furniture. I’ll update once I remove it. Who knows, I might have to put it right back.side note: bought the bench based off a reviewer, who mentioned their cat left it alone…not my cat. She’s like, oh this new thing between the two scratching posts is sooo niiiice scratch scratch scratch and it was lookin a hot mess after less than two weeks so maybe that person’s cat is not a b*tch, but that bench…will indeed encourage the claws.

Great Sticky Tape
I rescued a kitten, and when she gets the zoomies, she jumps all over my couch, kicking and biting the pillows and cushions. I was sick about having to keep my brand new couch covered in blankets. This tape is awesome!!! My kitten avoids my couch now.I have purchased double stick tape from the pet store, but it was not very sticky. The minute you touch it, it would peel off.Not this tape!! I love how wide it is and it is good and sticky, but doesn’t damage my couch. My kitten now avoids the couch. I’ll leave in on for a while and slowly remove the strips in time and see if she stay off it. I highly recommend. The tape should not be used on leather or vinyl.. so I put some tape on cardboard and place it on my husbands leather recliner to keep her off if it. She is smart though. When she sees the cardboard has been removed, she jumps in his chair. I don’t mind her sleeping in his chair, it’s the zoomies, jumping and biting the leather that we are trying to stop.

Ok product!
Update: The company reached out to me for a full refund. After they offered advice on how to separate the tape, using a small knife. IT WORKED! I'm very pleased 😀 I also declined the refund. Great company to reach out and to try to remedy the issue! The double sided tape is difficult to work with. It is nearly impossible to separate the tape from the non stick side. Once you finally peel it apart, after wasting a numerous amount, it does stick nicely to leather and apolstery. I'm still not happy with it, I do not recommend 😕

It works. Just need a little patience.
Update 9/3/20: I did end up removing the tape 3 weeks after applying it. No damage to leather and wood furniture. Remember I applied it lightly. My cat hasn't touched any of the mentioned areas for 5 months. Well, until today. Maybe she needed a little reminder or maybe it was revenge for giving her a bath?!? Either way tape went back up and this is still the best solution for us:)SUUUPER sticky!! This will stick to everything! Works 100%. So, I never had an issue with my 12 year old cat until I moved into my new home with my dumb idea....Why not get all new wood and leather furniture? :(. Yup, soon after I spent 3 weeks of hell. Constantly looking over my shoulder ready to pounce any sound similar to scratching or close to it. (sometimes crunching plastic bags). But with 1 week of hard research I found a simple, maybe temporary, solution. Double sided tape! Her favorite nail trimming areas are my entertainment center, leather ottoman and door trims. It only took 2 days for this bad behavior to start! I did need to find a workaround when using this tape on the mentioned furniture though. Since the tape is so sticky it removes some laminate and lightens the wood a bit when its peeled off. It also peeled some paint off of the door trims and it's so strong it leaves kind of like a scar mark on my leather ottomanan. Because of this I had to cut strips in half lengthwise and lightly apply to edges of areas she attacks. I leave the tape a little loose. Also, I stick it to the carpet once and peel it off to reduce the strength of the glue. Separating the tape from the roll can take me a minute or two since the arrow guide is only on the start of the roll. I know this seems like a lot of work but I don't mind because it saves my furniture. She hasn't touched those areas in 10 days. As soon as I gather my courage I will be removing the tape. Remember when you do remove it very slowly or you could damage your new furniture! Again, I wouldn't stick it whole side flat against any wood or painted areas just lightly around edges. Don't forget you still need to get a scratching post!! Keep it nearby. You need to give her something to satisfy the urge to scratch. I hope this review makes life a little easier for all pet lovers out there:)

Worked at first
I thought I reallly had something here! At first it worked great, my cat didn't like sticky paws then she discovered she like the taste of the tape and started licking and biting it. I was afraid it would make her sick so I pulled it all off. This may work well for other kitties.

Annoying mess
It does not stay up long and if used on couch, your legs/pants will stick to it. It is a mess, my wide regular tape works better. No need for double side sticky mess.
