Evanescence -- The Piano Style of Amy Lee: Piano/Vocal/Chords

I'm a little disappointed by the reviews claiming this is has full piano accompaniment without vocals forced into the piano parts. Breathe No More and Call Me When You're Sober are two examples of songs that are not the full piano version. One of my favorite parts of CMWYS is at the end of the second chorus repeat where she holds the "make up your mind" for a long time and plays a complicated string of notes beneath, but the sheet music here and in The Open Door sheet book by the same company both play her vocal part here in the piano piece rather than those complicated notes which I have had to find online through fan transcriptions that aren't even in the same key so it's difficult to substitute. And it's clear in Breathe No More that the intro piano phrase continues playing while she begins singing the verses, but that's not the piece you play. You play her vocals with this book. It's a little disappointing.

I absolutely love the transcriptions; VERY faithful to the recordings! Also, the vocal section is separated from the piano, which is fantastic (I absolutely hate the "piano singing" most books have). My only recommendation is to take it to an office supply store and get it re-bound; it doesn't like to stay open without unsightly bending. A very simple $3-5 solution! (Pictured is my custom rebinding, NOT what you'll receive from the publisher!)

I really only got the book for one song, My Immortal. It's a typical song book for piano and it's been fun going through and trying to play all the songs

Amy Lee is a genius...The fusion of Metal with Classic is so difficult to make and she did.I love her.She is so talented and beautiful.One of my passions, definitely.Again, when you play some piece and it sounds good, man, it's a wonderful feeling........Even better when you read some piece and say 'wow, this is good, this was so well thinked'just like Amy's songs...She is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

I got this book for my daughter because she loves the songs Amy Lee sings. She has been taking piano for five years and some of these pieces challenge her. Many of the pieces are written in keys with multiple sharps (1 has 6 if I remember correctly). Get this book if you want to be challenged by something besides the classics.

I love the arrangements and they are easy to play on the piano for my immediate students.

I like this book, the content is wonderful, images and especially the music sheet which are in the nice written form for playing.I take away the one start only because of the bad realization of the pages bonding. But this book is for me important as the content, and I am giving it my recommendation.

Need I say more? I think she is a wonderful pianist and these arrangements don't "dumb down" the music. I really enjoy working on the pieces and have learned from them. It brought me back to my piano! Thank you for sharing them with us!

the boos is very good I had this book delivered and when I opened it, it was lovely fresh paper this book is extreamly reliable but I wouldn't recommend this for starters since this can get very complex but it's up to you what u spend your money on

It was a gift for my daughter who learns piano and she loves it!
