EMS Field Guide, ALS Version 19th Edition

I have been on EMS for around 17 years and I have to say that this little book is a great partner. It does really contain valuable information you may need at any time.I bought this version recently and I really like it. The only thing is that this one is a little bit "fat" than the previous versions, so this is not really a pocket book; however it is very complete and I am very satisfied with it.I will have to wait a few monthts to see how does the material behaves, because, one of the problems with the previous one, was that sometime after having it on your pockets, it gets a kind of "blur" or damaged.In simple words: "a great choice for me"...

This thing is awesome. I've been an EMT for a while but bought this towards the end of paramedic school. It has everything I need. It's a great resource to know I have available to me if I need it. It of course has all of the ACLS and pediatric sections and drugs we use, but one of the parts I like best is it has a section to look up patient drugs and gives a brief description of them. It's had just about everything I've come across so far.

Was very happy to get an updated version of this. I work in a county jail where phones are not allowed. The only thing I'm unhappy about is that they removed the commonly misspelled words section. I used that a lot in the old edition. Currently running the old one through the copy machine and will add my own to it. The rest of this book is great. Very easy to find what you are looking for. The other plus side to the paper version is when I work on a box or engine and my phone version is not working I have a backup.

Same great guide I've been buying for years. Unfortunately, the pages are very flimsy now. I don't think this is going to hold up long being carried around in my pocket at work day in and day out. We'll see.UPDATE: It's eight months later, and I must say my fears about this falling apart quickly were unfounded. The only reason I still don't give five stars is I feel they could have done a better job with a more up to date and comprehensive medication index. As with previous versions, I still see medications that are listed by both their generic and trade names, but others only listed under one or the other. Also other medications that just plain aren't present under either name. Given that this is one of my most common uses for a field guide after so many years in EMS, I think this is a failing. I realize "there's an app for that" but I'm old school.

Recieved this reference guide a few weeks ago. I am in paramedic school and we are allowed to use references on tests. So I got this to use instead of the massive 5 book series we could use instead. It has a lot of ueful info and I would definitely take it into the field as it is sometimes hard to remember all the doses for all the meds, especially pedi doses. Highly recommend getting this and keeping it on you in you're a medic or in medic school. Just be aware of your states protocols as they will vary slightly.

Item was exactly what I was looking for - everything seems in tact so far. Ordered this to keep either on my person or in my jump bag as a quick reference as an EMT. It's always good to keep a "hardcopy reference" in the event your digital versions become unreliable (I tend to rely on my Android a lot, but our metro is surrounded by rural areas - can never totally predict the availability of such technologies). Spiral bound, plastic coated sheets, and small enough for a tactical pant side pocket or a small pocket of a bag.Price was very reasonable, compared to in-store prices. Shipped in the exact amount of time that was both expected & stated by amazon/seller's time frame. Would definitely order again - thanks!

My husband is an EMT and I got this as a graduation gift. It has really great information, and is good quality paper. He knows someone who's had this exact book in his pocket for 13 years and takes it on every ride. So if you ever get in a tough spot, pull this up for a quick refresher! You won't be disappointed.

As a medic it has come in handy while on scene with patients. The product is reliable but the spiral part breaks real easy. It might be because i keep it in my back pocket. If it they could make that part stronger or sell replacement spirals then i would have no complaints. Water proof and the Pages are strong. Exactly what I asked for. No problems with the purchase, it shipped and I recieved within a few days of ordering it.Please make the spiral stronger.
