Crosspix: Pixillated Puzzle Madness Paperback – December 25, 2006

I enjoyed CrossPix. It was small in size (6" x 6") compared to other puzzle art books but it was still workable. I have not reached the 40 block pages yet, I assume they will cause a little eye strain since the blocks are so small. At the same time, the small size is nice to carry. So far most of the puzzles are solvable, some are tricky but worth the effort. There are typos, and I had to cheat a little to figure them out but I'm not giving up . . . .

These are quite easy puzzles with fairly nice pictures, making this an ideal book for a beginner. If you're an addict of griddlers, paint-by-numbers, pixel puzzles, etc. like I am, this book feeds the addiction, but don't look forward to long solving times. My favorite books for experienced solvers are the griddlers from the Sunday Telegraph.

This is an okay puzzle book, except for missing numbers and columns apparently caused by over zealous trimming. It needed a proof reader. Here are omissions that the reader can correct:#23Column 29: Add the digit 1 as the top number in the list of clues.Line 17: Add the digit 2 as the first number in the list.Line 18: Add the digits 3 and 1 as the first two numbers.Line 19: Add the digits 3 and 2 as the first two numbers.#24 The last two columns are missing from the puzzle. You can draw the columns in.Missing column 19: Add the numbers 2, 12, 12, and 1 (top to bottom) as the list.Missing column 20: Add the numbers 3, 9, and 12 (top to bottom) as the list.#31 The last two columns are missing from the solution.. Don't peek at this correction if you don't want to know yet!(Correction: Fill in the top squares and the bottom squares of both columns.)#77Column 9: Add the digit 5 as the top number in the list of clues.#79Line 10: Add the digit 6 as the first number in the list of clues.Line 25: Add the digit 2 as the first number in the list.Line 26: Add the digit 2 as the first number in the list.#83Column 18: Add the digit 4 as the top number in the list of clues.I cannot guarantee that these are the only omissions. These are the omissions that I discovered with diligent study.

If you have recently discovered girders, this is a reasonable book for getting your feet wet. The puzzles are challenging enough to teach you some of the tricks without your having to depend on the solutions at the back of the book. On the other hand, I found a couple of puzzles so far (I'm half-way through) that have bad printing that has left off a row or two of clues.

An obsession that no one else has ever heard of. A little easy so far but I've gust started! Hurray

Purchased this book and (for the most part) am enjoying it. But so far, I have encountered two misprints (puzzle numbers 5 and 23)...discrepancies between the number clues and what is actually in the back. For example...puzzle 23 (third row from the bottom)...the clue numbers are 1 1 3 4 3, which should match the answer...they don't.So far, I have only encountered these two misprints, but I am not finished with the book. 2 errors out of 83 is still too much.

Love these books. Great for traveling and killing time.

This could have been a really enjoyable puzzle book. Instead, it turned out to be a frustrating waste of time and money. There are so many missing numbers that it's impossible to complete many of the puzzles. Skip this one.

Ich habe mich sehr gefreut dieses Buch gekauft zu haben. Hierin sind richtig viele Rätselbilder enthalten. Auch für Menschen geeignet, die wenig oder keine Erfahrung mit dieser Art von Rätseln haben. Es ist einfach und verständlich (in Englisch) erklärt. Die Beschreibung der Vorgehensweise führt wesentlich schneller zum Erfolg als die die es bspw. in den P.M. Rätselheften gibt.Es ist definitiv sein Geld wert.

Crosspix kenne ich eigentlich von einem PC SPiel und als ich das Heft entdeckte war ich richtig happy...hab es sofort bestellt aber ich muss sagen das es doch recht "anstrengend" ist.Das Heft ist recht klein, somit die Felder auch, das dauernde ausfüllen und durchstreichen hat mich schnell genervt. Kleine Rätsel waren ganz ok aber mir verging die Lust darauf recht flott.

Ich beschäftige mich schon einige Jahre mit dieser Rätselart und bin immer wieder auf der Suche nach neuen Anbietern. Hier habe ich sehr viel Pech gehabt: In mindestens 8 Rätseln waren Fehler in der Aufgabenstellung, so dass man in der Lösung nachschauen musste (die angegebenen Zahlenwerte stimmten nicht mit der Lösung überein!). In einigen Rätseln gab es gar fehlende Zahlenwerte.
