Likes: This is a good stir plate for the price. The stir rate ramps up to the set speed so the stir bar has a chance to accelerate. The heater will bring a 250 ml beaker up to temperature rapidly and once stabilized the temperature control is accurate. Dislikes: The heater initially overshoots by 5 or more degrees and takes about 10 minutes to fully stabilize. Beware of this if the maximum temperature is critical. My temperature probe connector had 3 cold solder joints (poor contact) and one became detached. The probe was re-soldered and works fine but this is poor workmanship.

Great value and works perfectly. I just received my second unit for a 2nd Soxhlet...my first unit has worked flawlessly for almost 1 year and I use 5000ml flat bottom boiling flasks.

It's not working properly. The temp stays at 30 and doesn't go up. I can't return it since the return window is closed. I will contact the seller to see if it has any warranty if I have any success I will update this review.

Great product best we found for the money! Check the wattage vs other brands, you'll see the great deal that it is.

It has no assemble instruction. You on your own unless you can look at the picture really good.

I have worked in chemical labs and at chemical plants for 20 years, the stirr plate function is good, the digital display and controller are nice features the quaility of the ceramic and body designe look great. Unfortunatly the wattage of the heating element is to small for serious lab work and I have serious dobts it is anywhere near 1000w. I bought this to try and stirr homade carmel in my kitchen it could not maintain boiling temp, even if I preheated the carmel sause in the microwave to boiling. The stirr plate was entierly capable of stirring swetened condensed milk (high viscosity fluid), which supprised me since I assumed it would be the stirplate portion that would be questionable not the hot plate part. It is acceptable for hoby or educational grade stuff where only small volumes will ever be heated but definetly not profesioanl lab grade heating.

before reaching max temperature for initial factory burn off… it started to glow under the plate then caught fire and popped and turned off. i cant say if the sample started to boil or not, so no comment on temperature control and functionality with a specific example. could not find the timer option and now i have no way of ever knowing. it mentions it in the manual in a table, but no instructions on how to set it up. i planned on playing with the stir bar but now i wont. the plate looked nice but i think they are all the same mostly. this is probably just a rare case or everyone lies. i personally can’t recommend this based on my own limited experience with this hot plate(and in general) and not going to try another one of this specific model and make. i watched it happen.
