Really Nice
I typically use watercolor stretched on a board when I paint. If I want something portable I usually choose a watercolor block of a paper (this is a block of sheets where the all the sides of the pages are glued together to keep it flat when you wet it.)Needless to say, the idea of painting in a sketchbook gave me some pause. This book is really nice, but it's the paper that counts for serious watercolor techniques, right? So what do we have: The paper is a cold press, rough surface. It holds up well to vigorous erasing. Ink does not bleed through to the other side and it holds a colored pencil line well. The paper does curl, as any watercolor paper will unless it is soaked and stretched flat on a board. I work in very light, multiple washes, going over the same area many times with glazes, on only one side of the paper. It handles that technique very well, and over time the pages will flatten out again as the book covers help to press it back into shape. The product picture shows the book in the vertical orientation and you might think that it opens like a book, but it doesn't. If you use it this way it's going open like a note pad. If you want the option for double page spreads, turn it to the horizontal orientation. It's an extreme landscape, very wide spreads. Something to consider if layout is important to your finished art.If you are looking for a quality book that can give you both good paper and a stunning presentation, try this one. I liked it very much. If there is one thing I'd change, it would be a tougher cover, one that resists fingerprints from all the people who want to snatch my sketchbook!

I finally get the craze in regards to Moleskin products.
I get it now. I really do get it. I finally get the craze in regards to Moleskin products. For the longest time, I never understood why anyone who was remotely artistic when it comes to drawing/writing/painting was obsessed with moleskine journals. I figured it was some overhyped "cool" brand that would die out eventually but after years of it not doing so, I finally got curious. I paint(in various mediums), draw and write so I wanted a journal/album suitable for all those mediums so I wouldn't have to have separate albums for separate things. I'm quite keen on organization and being minimalist when it comes to the actual organization of my art so I thought to myself that this would be the best type of paper. I was right, and going with this brand was probably the best decision and investment I've made when it comes to the my artwork.QUALITY:The quality is superior to any other "art book" I've ever purchased, and I've purchased albums which are far more expensive this one was and they only yielded a fraction of the results this one does. (They fell apart quicker, they simply weren't aesthetically pleasing to the eye, the paper wasn't as described, I could go on forever etc) but this blew my expectations out of the water.VALUE:Honestly, it might seem a bit pricy at first but think of your art and what you'll be using it for. Art grows and exists everywhere but when it comes to your personal, private art that you want to collect and remember, you don't want it to be in something with questionable or mediocre quality which unfortunately happens way too often with art journal brands. Brands sell overpriced products for mediocre quality and eventually, the journak falls apart, and gets ruined. This I can guarantee WILL NOT happen with this album, simply because the quality is unlike anything I've ever had before at a fraction of the cost (trust me, I've spent over $120 on art journals with custom specifications from other brands that still ended up being utter crap)VERDICT:Overall, I am extremely pleased with this purchase and will absolutely be back to purchase another one once I hit the point where I require a new art journal. If you're thinking about clicking buy, i absolutely recommend it, you WILL NOT be let down!

HIGH RECOMMENDATIONS. beautiful paper
LOVE THIS!This is one of the BEST watercolor pads I have have ever owned. It is small, which is perfect for me to keep in my white lab coat while at work and allows me to draw and sketch on the fly. I use archival/fineliner pigment pens with watercolor pencils over it. The paper is slighlty rough and tends to wear away the nib slightly faster than regular sketch paper but the beautiful and stark contrast is worth the extra cost of buying more pens.HIGHLY RECOMMENDDisclaimer: I DID NOT receive this product at a discounted price or free in exchange for an honest review. Being someone who uses customer reviews to extensively guide my own amazon purchases, I review products honestly without being influence by discounts or price. My rating and review of this product would be what the current price listed and not at the discounted price that I was given.

Excellent watercolour journal
The hardcover, the A4 size and the great quality of the paper in this book make it an excellent watercolour journal. I can't wait to start filling it up with paintings of my favourite things and sketch plans for future larger works. The paper is really quite smooth which lends itself to drawing with an HB or H pencil and pen and ink and colour washes. It's a high-grade paper which is heavy enough to take a lot of water without buckling too much. I'm delighted with the product. I urge the makers to continue production.

Perfect sketchbook!
I love Moleskine watercolor sketchbooks. They'rte my go-to sketchbook as they take both pen & watercolor beautifully. I can use both sides of the paper with no bleed through no matter what pen I used. In fact, several layouts had a black background that I colored in using dark black ink and there was no "ghosting" on the reverse page. Best Sketchbook for watercolor out there. In fact, I've used pencil, pen, ink, watercolor, neocolor ll, acrylic pens, sharpies etc with no problem. The thickness allows me to through serious washes at each page and still get very little buckling at all.
