Cables are durable and lasted me years.
These cables are significantly better than the factory cables that came with my HD 6XX headphones. These are a great length and are made of durable material.I decided to leave a review because I was able to get 5 years of use out of these cables. I'm buying a second set of cables only because a short in the cable developed over my years of traveling.I'd recommend these to anyone looking for replacement cables or an upgrade from the original cables for the HD650 and HD6XX.

Works well
The cable connectors are good and easy to plug in to my HD600 headset. Cable is heavier than the original one, and is the same length. They are the same length as the original when holding them side-by-side. The cable is round and heavier than the original flat cable. The original is not as sturdy and was damaged.I bought this unit because I wanted a 1/4-inch connector to go into my receiver without having to use an adapter. My receiver(s) have 1/4 inch plug sockets. I did not want to have to upsize from the tiny connectors commonly used for computers and small devices. Adapters make it stick out and subject to damage. I could always downsize the cable with an adapter for 1/8-inch devices is needed, but honestly, why would I use the HD600 with a laptop or something. Probably my Grado SR60 headset is more suitable for other purposes. The sound is excellent using the HD600 headphone with the new cables and my Sansui G-8000 receiver to play vinyl records on the Phillips 212 turntable with a good cartridge. Good kit, IMO. I don't expect the cable to have much influence on the sound, but the connectors are good quality, which is most important to me.

Works on HD58X
Works on the Massdrop HD 58X Jubilee headphones. I wish the cable was shorter and had a 3.5mm plug. Sennheiser doesn't seem to stock the shorter Apogee cable very often so this one will have to do since I want an actual Sennheiser cable. The official cable for the HD 600 would work as well, and has a 3.5mm plug, but it is almost twice the price when it is in stock.

Almost Great
I've been mucking around with the cable that came with my HD 600's for years, constantly tweaking the connectors to get them to work for both channels - while trying to keep my head from moving, even 1 mm, for fear that the sound would cut out again. Ugghhh. For some bizarre reason, I never thought to look on Amazon for a replacement cable. Doh!The good news: this cable works! Yea! And after a fairly short break-in time, it sounds every bit as good as the original. I'm very happy. 5 stars. Or is it?Now for the bad news. There are two, somewhat nit-pickey, but important things that I found annoying enough to mention to prospective buyers.First, the Left & Right connectors are no longer color coded. Uggh. I guess I'm just too old to deal with the black-on-black L or R imprinted on the connector in dim light. While this "problem" was remedied in less than a minute by using some of my wife's red nail polish on the Right connector, this really should have been done at the factory. -1 star.Second, the cable I received only had a 1/4" connector hard wired to the end of the cable. This arrangement requires a separate adapter if/when you want to plug into any of today's devices - iWhatever, phone, etc. Again, this was an easy fix since I already had such an adapter, but it's really a pain because it makes the termination end very long and inflexible. The original cable had a 1/8" connector "inside" a 1/4" connector, making either form of connection a breeze. -1 star. And finally, some more good news. At ~$20, this is a pretty reasonable solution to a well documented, long-standing problem. If this cable came from Apple, Samsung or Microsoft it would be $50. So kudos to Sennheiser and Amazon for providing a good solution for a reasonable price. Thanks! +1 star.

Thicker and Better than the Original Cable
I've had my HD-580 headphones for over 20 years, and this is actually my 2nd time purchasing these Sennheiser replacement cables. The original thin cables only lasted about 5 years of daily use, but the 1st set of replacement cables lasted for over 15 years (of daily use), so I just got this 2nd set of cables, and I expect them to last another 15 years as well. Good quality, good fit into the headphone, and worth the cost. Recommended.

A Good Replacement Cable for the HD600's
This Sennheiser cable fit my HD600 perfectly and eliminated the channel cut out that I was experiencing from the cables that originally came with the headphones. There are several differences between the original cable and the new cable. First the new cable is a couple of feet shorter. For me, that was positive but that will be a matter of individual preference. Secondly, the cable is somewhat thicker. I like the somewhat more substantial feel of the new cable. Third, the new cable terminates in a 1/4" phone plug whereas my original cable terminated in a 3.5 mm plug with a 3.5 mm-1/4" adapter. I now use an adapter I already owned most of the time. Again that is a matter of personal preference and since I use the headphones in devices with use both size jacks (my Denon receiver has a 1/4" jack and my computer uses a 3.5 mm jack) I have to have an adapter part of the time regardless of the plug. Fourth, the original cable had a red plug for the right channel headphone and a black plug for the left channel headphone. The replacement uses black for both although both sets are molded with L or R on the plugs. It does make it easier to identify the right earpiece when the cable uses a different color than the left side.I am pleased with the new cable. I can tell no difference sonically between the new cable and the original cable other than moving my head no longer cuts off the signal to one channel or the other the way the original cable had developed the bad habit of over the last 15 years.
