Race Face Half Nelson Locking Grips

Great feel cheap hardware.
The grips feel nice but the hardware they included I feel is cheap. I went to attach the grips and screw down the clamp and the grip was still a little loose. So I tightened the screw and it stripped out the Allen head. Now I can neither remove the grip or tighten it cause the screw is stripped. I assume the only way to remove the screw is to cut it off.

End caps don't work
These are comfortable with a good deal of control, but there's a design flaw. The end cap is designed to be clamped down on the end of the handlebars. The problem is that the end cap will squeeze the end piece in such a way that, when tightened, it pushes itself off the end of the bar. There needs to be a lip or groove for the end cap to fit into in order for it to stay put. I just used my stock end plugs to get by since I like the grips which will work fine - but this is a pretty obvious design failure that any R&D or engineer should be able to spot. I'm surprised Raceface hasn't fixed this issue.

Raceface is my go to for all parts: new bikes, sex changed bikes, built is always better than bought!!
At first when I installed the awesome grips I was a little concerned because they only have one bolt in... where my kona ones had two... but soon as I hopped on and took off they where just as solid as the others if no more... I went through the national park on Saturday morning.. with in 2 hours of riding I had 4 hikers call out how kick a** my down hill bike looked... oddly enough that has never happened usually people never notice the type of bike. I didn’t even notice that they went with my bars.... two years ago I bought the Atlas handle bars (in gold) from raceface they have the same design in them looks 100% they grip @ 100% they even feel good with not gloves. So yes, yes, yes, yes on these cool blue grips. I am building another bike for a friend and he will be getting a pair as well.To the seller: 100% super fast delivery, these are exactly what I was looking for. Would I buy through them again? Yes yes yes! Thanks for making it easy and being humble.

Not too thick, not too thin.
Oversized grips have a tendency to cushion bumps but limit the “feel” of handling. With the Half Nelson grips, ou get a good response with a tacky feel with or without gloves and just right amount of cushion. The lock and install were easy. Colors are cool. End plugs are basically junk but who doesn’t have a tray full of plugs somewhere.

Good but goofy install
Bought these for my son's 24" MTB. We changed his grip shifters out to triggers to give him more control and a full grip. I've got Lizard Skins on my bike and like them, and they have locking collars on both ends. These were a bit cheaper and my son liked the design, so I got them even though the locking collar is only on one end of the grip.So I installed them and they are very comfortable with a relatively thin profile, which we wanted for his smaller hand size. They look sharp, too. My only complaint is that they twisted easily on the bar, even with the collar cranked all the way down tight. The collar end wouldn't move, but the rest of the grip would. Which kind of begs the question of why you'd design a grip with one collar- seems like you'd do two or none at all.We did a couple of rides and while they didn't seems like they'd come off, the idea of them doing just that made me nervous. So we removed them, cleaned everything, and reinstalled with hairspray. Problem solved- they are locked on there and the collar probably isn't even necessary. Great grips, and they aren't going anywhere now.

Good grip/Not Comfortable/No dampening
I ordered these grips and put about 150 miles on them in various conditions. These grips were very attractive and looked good. They felt already broken in when I first got them, being very soft and sticky. So sticky in fact, it almost felt like they left a residue on my hands after long rides. Another thing is these grips are super thin. It is almost like having a thin piece of rubber over the bars. Thin rubber is great for condoms but terrible for mountain bike grips. I felt every bump and vibration on the harder offroad trails, rock gardens, etc. The odd thing is that they even felt that way on paved streets as well. The RF Half Nelsons did not work for me.On a side note, the hardware to lock the grips into place was flimsy too. This struck me as odd as I am a huge RaceFace fan when it comes to pedals, chainrings, cranks etc.

The are ok, can be better on quality
These are comfortable, easy to install, but quality could be a little better. As you see on the picture the are easy to peel off from the main piece. also if they rub to a wall or branch the gray part peels off. could be better. Other than that they are comfortable and the grip is good.

Great feel, looks great!
Nothing to dislike. A few things to like about these grips, I like how they feel, with and without my riding gloves on. I like the looks, goes good my my blue GT Aggressor Pro. And I like how easy they are to install. The toughest part of the whole deal was getting my factory installed grips off, which was easy, with a little soapy water, small Allen wrench, and a little twisting. Just a few minutes time total.

Forget hand cramps, say hello to grips.
I bought these in summer and I wanted to give them a hard try before I write this review.Dude! I could never imagine that the hand grips can provide such a pleasant ride.Me and some friends we usually do a 72Km MTB rocky ride and I used to get tired because of my arms and fingers. We did the same ride by having these RACE FACE beauties and brother they were A M A Z I N G!No pain, no sweat, no slipping and they can easily be washed if you choose a brighter color.Great product RACEFACE

Nice, comfy sticky grips
I bought these to replace the god awful hexagonal grips that game fitted to my Carrera Vulcan that the Devil himself must have designed. These RaceFace Half Nelson's are so much better, the hard bit is getting the old grips off, but once that's done these easily slide on and locked in place by tightening up the small grub screws on the locking collars. The grips are quite slimline, so maybe not ideal for someone with massive hands, but they are quite soft and sticky so provide an excellent and reassuring grip. They might be a bit expensive, but they will save your hands compared to cheap grips.

Nice Grips But Won’t Stay Still
I love Raceface grips and these look great on the bars. However, I can’t get them to stay put. No matter how much I tighten the clamps they twist easily - and these are on Raceface’s own handlebars! It’s like the hard plastic internal sleeve is just a fraction oversized. Pretty disappointed, never had grips that don’t lock properly. Will be returned and swapped for a different model. Edit: I have just removed them to send them back and noticed that the rough hard plastic liner of these grips has scratched my handlebars where they’ve been twisting. Very poor.

High quality, great looking grips that secure well to the bars, and offers a comfy and grippy ride.
High quality, great looking grips that secure well to the bars, and offers a comfy and grippy ride. They are not like the gummy grips you can buy, and don't feel very soft to the touch apart from the raised 'Raceface' logo on the front. But if you're used to thinner feeling grips, you will like these. They secure nicely, just make sure you have some bar ends as they don't include these, and you don't want to be riding without them!
