Got something to say? Got something delicious to say? With Sillycone's silicone Alphabet Trays you'll never be at a loss for words. The twenty-six letters of the alphabet are spread out across three nested 7”x4.5”x2.5” trays, one each in high-gloss red, green, and blue silicone. Make letters out of ice, jello, chocolate, wax for candles or crayons, or anything else you want to mold to say whatever it is that needs to be said. Great for birthdays, holidays, New Years Day, or any celebratory confectionery message you choose to send! Why say “I love you” with Valentine’s Day candy when you can spell it out instead? Like all Sillycone silicone trays, the Alphabet Trays are FDA-tested, BPA free and oven safe up to 550°, and freezer safe down to -50°. They cool within minutes of being removed from the oven, and cook with a perfect evenness every time. They are dishwasher safe, and do not retain odors or flavors even after prolonged and heavy use. Best of all, they fold easily for compact storage in a crowded kitchen.

I wish there was a better alternative
These are such a good idea could provide so much fun, but it IS super annoying that the letters aren't backwards. The letters should be backwards in the tray so that when you pop out your finished product, the smooth side is on the front of the letters. For some, like T and I and O it doesn't matter, but for others you just have to deal with it. I've never seen a mold that didn't have the design backwards so the finished product was smooth. Also, mine didn't come with any sort of booklet with instructions and ideas like I thought I had read it should. I used them to make crayon letters and it was fun and a neat idea. If you're using them for that, I recommend only using good quality crayons and stick the crayons in so they stand up vertically in the mold instead of laying them flat. It will make a better swirled design if you're mixing colors. Also, try to have the crayon pieces sticking up past the mold a little bit. I just filled my mold to the top and when it melted the wax only filled about half of the letter. Or melt the wax first and pour it in to the mold works too.

not so great if using mainly for ice
These are really fun to use, and my kids think they're fantastic. I'm sure they'd be great for candy, chocolates, making crayons, and so forth. However, my purpose in buying them was to use them primarily as ice cube trays. Getting the ice out is more of a pain than I would have thought. All the corners and crannies make it harder to just flip out a cube... actually, I can't just flip out a cube. They break about 1 in 4 times, and they get stuck on middle silicone sections such as in the letters A and B, so I have to really grab onto the cube and sort of wrench it off the silicone.I have only tried these a few times for making chocolate, and other than that, have only used them for ice. They do seem to be good quality and I'm sure they will hold up great. But if there are other people who would be using these primarily for ice, I would suggest reconsidering. I am definitely going to be looking for more normal-shaped ice cube trays, as these are just getting to be too much of a pain.

Works great for crayons, horrible for jello
I would almost give 5 stars except it is impossible to use the molds for jello. I could not get a single jello letter to pop out.For crayon making, these molds working fantastic. On our first try, we did break 4 of 26 letters: H, M, N, U. the M is especially difficult to get out and it broken in 4 pieces. I wish the box came with instructions. The company website offers recipes which link to other pages but nothing specifically for the molds. Tips for making crayons: Overfill the molds. I filled them to the top and my crayons were only half the size of the mold.

Good enough, but backwards.
These are nice. The letters are deeper than I expected, which was a good thing. I've used them for baking and soap making, and they work well for both.My only gripe with them is that the letters should be flipped. It doesn't matter on some of them, because the are symmetrical (X Y A, etc.) but on letters like D, B, G, and so on, it is annoying. The smooth side of the mold is the inside. If you flip your product so that the smooth side is facing up, the letter is turned the wrong way. With soap and candy making, it's annoying because the pretty side of your product is the affected side. With baking, I find it to be even more annoying.BUT these were the best looking silicone alphabet molds I found and the mostly do what I wanted.

Very cute and the silicone seems to be of very nice quality. They're thick and sturdy enough to hold up without spilling all over. BUT. The letters need to be backwards when you're looking at them. The way they are now (with the letters facing the right way when you're pouring into the mold), they unmold with the icky side up. So the nice, smooth, rounded edge side is down (on the back of the letter) while the messier side is the right side of the letter. I'll probably end up replacing this with something else- I wish I had looked a little closer before spending the money! For my use, I need the letters to be pretty when looked at and they just aren't like this.

Love these!
These trays are the best! I used them to make crayon party favors for my daughter's 2nd birthday party. They were a huge hit and much better than some of those cheap party favors you usually come across. It was not only fun, but very easy to make with these trays. I would definitely recommend them and will probably purchase another set to use for food items since I already used them for crayons. Just fill them up with pieces of crayons (we preferred bigger pieces), put in the oven at 250 for about 12 minutes and then either pop them in the freezer or set them out to cool. The company shipped the same day I ordered to so I couldn't have asked for anything better. Don't hesitate on these trays if you are thinking about them. Also, my daughter is learning her alphabet with these as well since she loves to color with them.

More than just a candy and ice mold
I purchased this product to make crayons for a Kindergarten class. I took all those broken crayons that we don't want to throw away and melted them in these molds. I recommend the ABC mold over the Numbers for this project. The reason is that the numbers broke more easily when popping them out of the mold. Just put the unwrapped , broken crayons in the molds and melt them at 250 degrees for about 10 min. Cool before removing. Note that once you use them for crayons I would not advise using them for edible products after that! I did this as a service project with middle schoolers!

Just as shown
We have noticed that these are a little hard to bake with, depending on what you are making. We were making gluten-free products similar to corn muffins that were a little hard to remove from the mold. When you look at the picture, I am sure you can imagine what would happen if your mixture stuck to the side. The problem can be solved by adding some extra non-stick spray, and by using a mix that comes out more dense.
