Just what I needed
Installed it on my Tesla Model X frunk and works perfectly. Closes smoothly as you would expect it to.

reclining chair
I bought these when one of the springs for the footrest broke. It was a little hard to install. I ended up using a long thin screwdriver to stretch it out onto the post. I replaced the first one in February 2023. The second one broke in January 2024. Suggestion - if you use these for this reason attach the second spring someplace under the chair, it will save you hunting for it when the second one breaks.

Fixes Model 3 Frunk
I used this to replace the super stiff latch spring in the front trunk (frunk) of my Tesla Model 3. It made it much easier to close. It still pops fine although slower than stock. Closing it does cause a mild ringing noise but I cut a piece of microfiber cloth and stuffed it inside. It's much quieter now. If you don't want to use those auto opening struts that bend your hood and send it flying open, then I would suggest this spring and a bit of cloth.For anyone worried about safety, the secondary latching mechanism is unaffected by this mod. This actually reduces the pressure on the latch so it should be safer now.

Great replacement for Tesla Model 3 Front Trunk
Replaced my Model 3 front trunk latch spring with this. As previous reviewer noted, it is still strong enough to pop the hood up but now a bit easier to close (you can now use one hand albeit with a lot of strength). I tried a few other smaller/weaker springs before this one, but all of them failed to consistently pop the hood up over time. This one is within the sweet spot.
