Great lock, great features, easy to install... pay attention to the instructions
When I first installed the lock, I couldn't understand why the instructions didn't address how to lock the deadbolt, because it seemed like I needed to use the code upon exiting to lock it. However, I eventually discovered that even after using the code to engage the deadbolt when exiting, it wasn't actually locking. Of course my initial reaction was that the product was faulty, but after calming my frustrations and clearing my head, I wondered if I could have erred in the installation. Upon reexamining the installation instructions, I began to suspect I didn't follow them as precisely as I should have.For the lock to work properly, these instructions must be followed to the letter: 1) the deadbolt must be extended during installation, 2) the latch pin from the outer assembly must be horizontal when inserted through the latch assembly, and 3) the thumb turn on the inside assembly must be vertical when mounting the assembly. If any of the three steps are not executed properly, the lock will go dormant when the deadbolt is in the retracted (open) position. Conversely, it will stay active when the deadbolt is extended, essentially allowing the door to be opened without the code.

UPDATE: we took the lock off and redid it and now it works. The issue lies in putting it together. If you install the lock and the deadbolt is up and down when it’s in the unlocked position, it will not work properly. When the lock is unlocked, the deadbolt should be horizontal. I hope this makes sense. I’m sure you have a 50/50 chance of the same issue when installing. Now this lock works and I have zero issues with it. I wanted a manual turning lock to replace our electric lock because it kept getting stuck when our door would swell in the summer. I just wish the instructions worked better and explained this. It took far too long to figure it out on my own.What a piece of ****. The lock won’t stay engaged. No matter if you lock it manually or with the key, you can simply turn the lock part from the outside and the door just unlocks. There’s literally no way to lock it. Someone can just walk up to your door and turn the manual part and bam... door unlocks. I’ve tried looking up any solution and there’s nothing anywhere other than other customers complaining about the same issue. How has this company not realized this issue and corrected it. Nothing in the manual explains how to lock the door either.

Piece of garbage
I received the lock and it was an ease to install, happy so far. Then I follow the instructions and change the combo, works fine. Then I try the lock and it doesn't work, it wont stay locked, but it will lock open? I call customer service, wait 20 min. and then a voice comes on "sorry we missed your call, call back during business hours" and its 2hrs before they close on the east coast. So next I try their on line help center "chat", I spend 20 min explaining whats wrong only to have them each time tell me exactly what I told them I already did, then the chat goes silent. I have to re connect to the "chat", and of course its someone else, I go through everything again with them. This person tells me I need to go to a web site, fill out an RMA and send it back to them, then within 2-3 days they will get back to me for the return at which time they will send me a new unit. I had explained that this was for a storage room that is now un-secured because the old lock had broken. This was the worse customer service I have ever experienced and will never purchase product from this company again.

Defective - Upon locking door to leave, the outside knob stays engaged - anyone can enter.
Wasted a couple of hours on this - completed install - added pins, etc. When locking the door from the outside the outside knob is supposed to disengage when the backlight turns off. On my unit it did not disengage. Therefore anyone can just open the door without entering a pin. I spoke with customer support for probably 20 minutes about the issue. The were nice but not helpful in solving the problem. They seemed to know little about the product and it became clear that I understood more than they did about how it was supposed to work. Returned item - unhappy to lose a couple hours of my Sunday :(

Thought this would be an easy install but I'm ready to put a whole in the wall.. with my fist. Lock mechanism wont engage! Saying that is locking and unlocking but the deadbolt isnt moving BEYOND FRUSTRATED

Generally works well, Bluetooth isn’t as convenient as I had hoped.
I bought this lock specifically because it included an app/Bluetooth feature that other keypad locks don’t have. The lock was reasonably easy to install as long as you follow the directions. The keypad requires a 6 digit code. The included 9V battery was dead in the box.My hope was that I would mostly use the lock with the Bluetooth connection and my phone. Unfortunately the app is a bit buggy and doesn’t work as well as I would like. Sometimes the lock shows up in the app, sometimes not. If it does, the phone must be within 6-8ft from the lock before it can connect with the lock. The connection isn’t automatic, you have to click on a small button on the app to initiate the connection and then wait 6-12sec. The whole process is inconvenient, slow, and not as smooth as it could be. On the plus side the lock has a nice oil-rubbed bronze finish. It was installed in the fall and has worked all winter even with temps in the single digits. An Energizer Lithium 9V battery was installed with the lock about 4months ago and is still going strong.It’s not the best lock I have ever used, but if being able to control a manual deadbolt with your phone is an important feature for you, this is the only one I am aware of and it generally does work. Just don’t expect it to be frustration free.
