Scale and Colour Finder Selection - Set of 5 Finders

These are helpful and handy little visualization tools. They arrived from England to Alaska in a reasonable time period. You get a lot of tools for the cost. They are flexible plastic- maybe like a triple thick overhead transparency weight? but neither flimsy or too heavy. Appropriate. And will last a good while if cared for reasonably.There are also a number of different tools in this set, with some basic instruction for the use of each. You'll likely find them handy if you're looking to up your artist skills. I'd buy them again for the price.

Great little tools to help improve my beginners artist skills. I've already found them quite useful. Shipping to the U.S. was quicker than expected (about 11 days) and item was perfectly packaged. Very glad I purchased them.

neat set. Reasonable quality for the money and entertaining. Useful. I recommend finding a way to safely transport them.

A handy set of tools

I'm always looking for things like this for my students. The "Colour Finder" is useless. Buy a color wheel! The other 4 are useful if, you don't own any of these. However, for the price (even the convenience of them) they aren't worth the money or the 3 weeks (or more) it will take to receive them in the mail if you live in the USA. Do yourself a favor ... if you own a computer and a printer ... make your own! Buy a good Color Wheel and buy "transparent ink paper." There are many programs (paid and free) that you can easily make the other 4 "finders" yourself. You can also make them far bigger and more useful. Most of these cards finders are very small & won't be helpful in real world application, unless you're a beginner and have limited resources. Then yes, I would recommend these to start off your art tool collection.I bought these from "the Society of Artists." They are in the UK. The UK use to be in their name and read: The Society of Artists UK (it still does so on the paper work). Along with dropping the UK from their Amazon Store Front, it seems they've dropped good customer service & a timely mailing service. I hope they go back to the way they use to do business, as recent as last year at Christmas; yes I've bought things from this Co. in the recent past. Until they do, this was the last item I've purchased from them.Please don't confuse the grief I have with the item and the seller. I don't hold the Society of Artists responsible for the poor item itself (that's on the manufacturer: Daler Rowney). However, I do hold them responsible for the price, description of this product, shipping & customer service which added injury to insult, of this purchase.This is based on my opinion and my experience. If you choose to buy this item, best of luck!UPDATE 8/26/2015: In regards to the seller "Society of Artists UK" ... They have contacted me and openly apologized for the delayed shipping. I have ordered from them before (Jan.2015) and normally, I've never waited more than a week 1/2 to 2 weeks shipping. I am pleased that they took the time and reached out to me to make things right, which they did. I would and most likely order from them in the future. I'm still not a fan of the product but again, that's not their fault as I previously mentioned.

Practical and helpful for teaching

Got these to help me with painting outdoors. They are a good size & will come in handy inside my paints box.

This is an amazing collection of art tools. They were shipped extremely quickly and I received them days earlier than expected (thank you seller).I am very impressed by the quality, they are made from quality plastic with fairly clear plastic windows, you can see all that is needed and they are accurate. They will definately be very useful accessories for me and I highly recommended these to everyone at any level.

The value finder should go from 0% white to 100% black.Yet it goes from transparent, to dark gray transparent. So not only do I have a number of inks that are darker than the darkest Value. But it also fails if the paper is anything but white or if you hold it up in the air trying to align it with the reference.The color wheel has Purple written, but the color on it is blue.Perspective finder and Picture finder have too small windows and far too much space wasted on text.
