The Woolly Pully sweater was originally developed during World War II for use by the S.A.S and Bomber Command.

European Sizing
The American made woolly pulleys are of a different sizing than the ones made in the UK. A 2XL in the US is allot larger than the 2XL from the UK so I would go one size up if not 2 sizes to get that perfect fit. I wear a Large Regular so I bought the 2XL because of the sleeve length but when it arrived it fit like a medium way way too small So I will be sending it back for a 3XL size. Plus I noticed that the sweater was sent back at one time because there was no manufacture tag on the collar and the bag it was re-wrapped in had packing tape all over it to re-seal it so at one time someone ordered this and it did not fit and was sent back and they re sold it.

Well fitted, not as dense woven.
I hate to beat a old drum, but the quality isn't as good as my old infantry issued wooly pully. With that said along with the acknowledgment of the civilian market, this fits as expected, which is tight. Although most people will prefer to size up, the length of the torso and arms will increase to the point whereby it will be noticeably long. The fact that this is genuine wool makes it a great product as most woolly pullies are now synthetic and not as comfortable. With a base layer these can be worn in weather as low as 0 (32F), and seeing how I currently only own 1 jacket, I've done well to survive the whole of winter with nothing more with my old one.I shall be wearing this over the course of the next week as the weather has dropped into single digits (do the maths for Fahrenheit) and report back as to how it compares with its predecessor...

Yes this IS the wool sweater you have been wanting
I was nervous from the reviews for the British commando wool sweater. Im 6' 210-215 lbs not a big chest but also not sagging. The sweater on my body make it look like my chest is more toned than it really isππ. I bought a XXlarge and it fits very good. Sleeves I told down about 4.5- 5 inches (pre-washed) but it's not bulky looking on my wrist area. The length will cuff under but just like the wrist area it still looks good. It doesn't give that tube around the beltline look. It stays pretty flat without any poofyness. Around $100 after shipping is still worth it. I got black I will now be ordering another color. I wouldn't buy the cheaper woolies pay the extra for the correct woolies without any regrets.

True to size, wish it was a bit longer
Bought this for my husband. He loves it. Its nice and warm. He loves that the shoulders are cushioned bc he wears a bullet proof vest. The only thing he doesn't like is that it is a bit too short. He is 6'3", it sits right at his waist/beltline and he felt like it could've been like 3 or 4 inchss longer to prevent riding up . Overall though, he likes it and it's true to size. The sleeves are a perfect length and the neck doesn't itch at the collar. He says its very comfortable to wear with a long sleeve tee( as it is wool and a bit scratchy) . Great buy if you have to work outside in cold conditions. Highly recommend!

Better be slender and have gorilla arms
Nicely made sweater, but really small. I have a 42 chest and wear L sweaters usually, but ordered this one XL, which it states is size β48-50.β The fit is very, very snug, particularly around the midsection. And, although I am 6-foot 8, the arms are about 3-4 inches too long, so I am very reluctant to order and even larger size. Maybe it will stretch over time...

Nice sweater but sizes are roughly 2x smaller than normal
The sizing is much smaller than Iβm accustomed to. I ordered sizing based on measurements, guidelines and my normal sizing for sweaters. This particular sweater proved to be about 2 sizes smaller than expected. Nice materials and design. Only problem is the unexpected smaller sizing.

Functional, professional, stylish. Love it.
Absolutely perfect sweater. Warm, stylish, durable, and very professional looking. Love the pen pockets on the left sleeve, just like 5.11 polos. I machine wash on the "hand wash" setting with my washer and air dry. Top shelf product and a steal for the $70 I paid.

Thick, Warm, Smaller Fit
I am normally between a XL and XXL depending on the cut (best fit is a XL Tall and wear a 48 Long Sport Coat). This comes small. I ordered a XXL. It is tight and shorter than expected. I'd recommend ordering a size up. I'll keep it and hope to stretch it out a bit. Even though it is tight - in no way does that restrict movement.Quality seems excellent for the money. Its thick, warm and a rougher wool texture. The Navy was perhaps a little darker than the online photo. The actual color is better than presented.
