Excellent, Quiet Inverter Runs 24/7
I use this inverter in an off-grid cabin with a bank of 12 V batteries and solar panels. This inverter replaces a modified sine wave inverter, and I quickly discovered that it was worth the extra cost. Inductive loads (motors) run faster and quieter, and the buzz that the old inverter generated over home theater equipment is now gone. The inverter itself is completely silent until it reaches a certain temperature, at which point fans kick in to keep the unit cool. This is a great improvement over inverters that always keep the fan running, and I suspect this improves efficiency at lower power draws.I tested the output with an oscilloscope, and the waveform is a beautiful sine wave - cleaner than grid power often is! However, when under heavy inductive load, the waveform does deteriorate. This leads to my one complaint about this inverter - it struggles with higher wattage inductive loads. The modified wave inverter this replaced never had a problem starting my shop vac (which runs at between 500 and 600 watts), but this unit will often trip when starting the same vac. Even my small 350W house vacuum sounds "odd" when starting, which I suspect is due to the waveform collapse under the higher inductive starting current. Smaller loads like fans start and run without any issue, but I question if this unit can handle a 2000W peak as advertised for a duration long enough to get a bigger motor running.Speaking of motors, this inverter is NOT instant-on. It instead builds up from zero volts to 120 VAC over a second or two time lapse (I actually watched this on the oscilloscope). Electronic equipment does not like this at all! I solve this problem by making sure the power strip is turned off when I first power on the inverter to allow voltage to stabilize. I saw this as a negative at first, until I realized that this is a useful feature for starting a larger AC motor. If the motor trips the inverter, it will "sing" (alarm) for about 5 seconds and then turn back on again with the delayed voltage build-up, which in turn soft-starts the motor without a huge surge current. This is useful if you have a single, larger inductive load connected to the inverter, but potentially bad if you're running multiple items (particularly electronics) at the same time.As for resistive loads, this inverter does great. I've run a George Foreman grill (close to 1000W) off this inverter for 10 plus minutes with no problems. My inverter is on 24/7 in a variety of temperatures and load conditions, and overall I'm very impressed. I am considering an upgrade to the 2000W version due to the issues with larger motors, but in all other ways this inverter has worked great for my needs. Oh, and you can't beat the price!

Tested and seems like a good quality Pure Sine Wave inverted for our emergency Prius to Home needs.
Wanted a good Pure Sine Wave Inverter for emergencies.Connected this inverter to my 2012 Prius 12 volt battery for home back up ac power.Used this connector.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FXWLD88/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I cut the 7 AWG wires shipped with this inverter in half to use connector.Crimped wires to connector with this crimping tool.http://www.amazon.com/NOCO-D800-Hammer-Indent-Crimping/dp/B006VU5WX8/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1422297817&sr=1-1&keywords=NOCO+D800+Blue+Hammer+Indent+Crimping+Tool&pebp=1422297817004&peasin=B006VU5WX8Using this fuse holder with an 80 amp fuse.http://www.amazon.com/Scoshe-EWFH-Single-Fuse-Holder/dp/B000KIR8M0You will need another cable to connect the negative red wire to the fuse holder like this.http://www.amazon.com/BC-16PN-TP-16-Inch-Positive-Negative-Battery/dp/B003RCJB62/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1422298693&sr=1-1&keywords=BC-16PN-TP+16-Inch+Positive+%26+Negative+Battery+Cables&pebp=1422298693853&peasin=B003RCJB62I tested it with a 1500 watt heater set on low 1000 watts for 15-20 minutes and it ran cool to the touch without the cooling fan coming on. Then I tested the auto overload feature by switching the heater to high 1500 watts and the unit shut off with the alarm. I reset the inverter and it continues working fine with the heater on 1000 watts. I'm confidant this inverter will serve well for our emergency Prius to home power outage back up unit. We will have enough wattage to run refrigerator, lights, radio, TV, charging ports for cells, laptop, modem and router. If necessary we can run a small heater alternately with refrigerator.I am very happy with this unit and it appears to be quality built..I have not found a use for the remote control yet with our application. Our intended use scenario:When we have a power outage I will take this unit out of storage and connect it to the quick connect on the Prius 12 volt battery. Put the 2012 Prius V in Ready Mode which allows the gas engine to run automatically when needed to recharge the traction battery and in turn the 12 volt battery. Extension cord through this male 110v outlet outside and female receptacle inside (avoiding a dangerous "suicide cord") instead of through the window or door.http://www.amazon.com/Leviton-4937-Weatherproof-Wallplate-Receptacle/dp/B00074USHY/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1422299 854&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=Leviton+4937+Weatherproof+Inlet+on+Flush+Mount+Wallplate+with+Aluminum+Cover%2C+Straight+Blade+Receptacle%2C+Gray+by+Levitonhttp://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dtools&field-keywords=Leviton%20T5320-W%2015%20Amp%2C%20125%20Volt%2C%20Tamper%20Resistant%2C%20Duplex%20Receptacle%2C%20Residential%20Grade%2C%20Grounding%2C%20WhiteThen an extension cord to the appliances.

Nice inverter
Installed this in my RV. I have a wind generator and solar power. It now runs all my electronic devices in the RV (TVs, computer, ...) as well as I ran an electric weed-eater off it, ran the weed-eater with no problem.I like the remote on/off switch, so I can turn it on/off from inside the RV. The inverter has a cooling fan but it dose not come on until the inverter reaches a certain temperature. This keeps me from using battery power to run the fan when it is not needed.I did not use the battery cables that came with it because there not tinned and I needed longer ones.So far so good, good price on a PSW inverter.EDIT: After having this inverter almost 2 months it is still going strong. I run everything in my RV except the AC and coffee pot. When I am at work I turn it off but when I am in the RV and on weekends it is on all the time.I have only had the fan kick on twice when I was running everything at once. Never had a problem out of it.

to good to be true
delivered on april 13 quit working on june 1st a little over a month later. Major disappointment. Bought this inverter to power a device that drawed just under 700watts at start up, that i confirmed with a inline wattage meter before purchasing this inverter. So i was well under the 1000watt continuous and 2000watt surge rating. It worked fine for a month then one day i went to turn it on and it just beeps but will not put any power out of receptacle to any devices. Emailed them and still have yet to hear anything.
