Product not as advertised. Manufacturer unresponsive.
Product advertising references venting capability. On arrival of product found Gas filler cap has vent cap on top. Totally useless. Vent cap could not be turned, even with pliers. Filled 3 gal tank with 2 1/5 gal gas, no venting. Tank leaked from filler cap and gas gauge. Called manufacturer customer service. Promised operating manual via email. No email received. Called again, customer service personnel unavailable. Tried to return product, no return authorization ever received. Something very wrong here with product and company. Do not buy.

Dangerous flaw don’t buy
This tank is dangerous. The fill tube on my tank dislodged from the gauge housing and fell into the tank shutting off fuel pressure and shutting down the engine. I’m not sure if the manufacturer failed to install a $ .03 cent clamp or used an adhesive which deteriorated. Regardless, if this happened on the water I have an $800 tow bill or perhaps something worse or the weather deteriorated and I have no power. In my driveway, I was able to troubleshoot the problem and repair with a $.03 cent clamp. Recall this tank or provide all owners with a repair kit before someone gets hurt.

Handy tank. It will expand with temps. Tap aveey small.whole in it and put a screw in it that is just a tiny bit smaller. But has a large head. It will let the fumes go and come and not expand the tank.

Modification makes this work.
This was purchased as a feed tank for a Honda generator. After reading the reviews I bought this version and drilledModification a small hole at the bottom of the fill tube to allow the heated gas to not build up in the tank. That was successful. Then because of the new vent specs I had to loosen the fill cap to have the siphon work. So far very good.

I like the construction
I like the construction, but the venting of the tank is strange. The small vent on top does not appear to vent fully, you actually have to loosen the cap itself. I wish the fuel connector was in the middle of the tank versus protruding out the end.

Faulty vent mechanism-dangerous
After one trip, what appears to be a defective venting mechanism allowed it to swell to this size/shape. I did notice it swelling and checked to ensure the vent cap was completely opened which it was. I vented by taking off the cap, but it looks like this shape is permanent...

Fits my SoloSkiff well and was easy to install the hose attachment but had to unscrew the place where it fits on to and out it back on. Other than that it if a good fuel tank.

beware vent cap better to just leave the cap cracked open as opposed to trying to utilize vent tank
