well worth reading.
I stumbled across this book via Aerodrome and found it a very interesting read. I found that my own preconceived ideas were challenged. I would have liked a more definitive ending but, nou ja, not the author' intention.

A book both enlightening and mysterious
A wonderful book. It takes place in London and South Africa, and it certainly tells the political story, but you see that story through the eyes of individual people. This book is not a study of the politics of apartheid but of people living through that period. Like Alan Paton's Cry the Beloved Country, this story is ultimately about the tension between individual people and the larger political, social, economic context.
