Teen Titans: Beast Boy

I liked the Teen Titans: Raven book a lot, but I think Beast Boy's story is the best book by Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo at this point. The pictures are stunning and the story is moving and funny, with lots of important characterizations of Gar Logan (Beast Boy). Gar Logan is often underutilized by DC, and I'm thrilled as a long-time fan of the character to see him portrayed so well and with so much depth.

My 13 year old does not like to read at all. I purchased this book for my daughter and she read it right away that day and asked for the whole series. Highly recommended for Teen Titans fans. She absolutely loved the artwork in the book, she said, " The artwork is incredible." Even if you are not a fan of Teen Titans, this series of books may sway any comic lover. My daughter can't wait for the new releases to come out.

tldr: BUY THE FREAKING BOOK.it’s beast boy, who’s my second favorite character. plus gabriel piccolo, who’s my favorite artist. add kami garcia, who’s a great writer, and it’s literally one of the greatest books in existence, i kid you not. in my opinion, the picolo/garcia teen titans series is essential for EVERY teen titans fan. in fact, these books would be great for someone who’s never even seen teen titans…the graphic novels got me into the show lol. however, i do recommend reading it in order. not that i read them out of order or anything…heh…read it!! and kami & gabriel deserve so much recognition for this series, it really is so good. it’s really refreshing to see REALISTIC teenage “superheroes.” pumped for the starfire book!!!!!!!!!!!!

great gift

As a huge Beast Boy fan, 10/10 highly recommend this!!! Potential little spoiler, we know their are different storylines of how Garfield became green, via the Young Justice blood transfusion, or the comics with the injection from his parents, this does follow one of them but I will not say which. It's still a fantastic read and modern twist on the characters we love, but also still sticking to the original story too.

I actually really enjoyed the art and story, my only qualm is around the end it feels soooo rushed and a few of the character interactions fell flat. Like one moment Beast Boy is still trying to be the cool kid, and the next page he’s having an important conversation with Slade and a page after that he’s transforming for the first time (slightly exaggerated obvi) but you get my point. I felt Kami took a bit too long building up the story so once we got to the final pages and nothing major had happened yet, it was clear she rushed to get to the climax. I’m not sure if they were restricted to a specific amount of pages but it would have been better imo if they added more so that the climax didn’t come so suddenly or if she took out some of the unnecessary dialogue and replace it with something pertaining to moving forward the climax. I also felt the development of beast boys friends fell flat when it came to finding out what happened to Tanaka, like this was a major issue for the friend and Gar just essentially ignores him? It just felt very out of character and when it was revealed what was happening to Tanaka everyone was just like “ok I don’t really care so let’s focus back on me because I’m the main character”. I still enjoyed it and felt if these specific issues had been touched on more it would have been an excellent origin story.

Fun but quick read and great artwork

Assim como Raven, é perfeito!! Traz a história do Gar quando ele descobre seus poderes, em meio a dramas adolescentes. A visão dele é muito realista, os amigos são maravilhosos, e a história é envolvente. Muito bom, recomendo.

Amazing book! The story and artwork are soo good! Gabriel's attention to detail is truly spectacular! The quality of the book is excellent as well. It's got a nice, sturdy cover that doesn't scratch easily (my paper loving cat has tried) and smooth pages on the inside! Would recommend!

good graphic novels. The artwork is amazing, but the story line is aimed more for the 9-13 year old age group. So you can gift it to your nephew or niece who likes graphic novels and comic books.
