Yummy without the dressing
I always order seaweed salad in restaurants and like it very much. But I always thought how much better it would be without that sweetish dressing it comes with these days. I ordered some frozen, and the dressing was already on it. Also the frozen stuff came in one big batch that had to be thawed all at once. These are individual salads. The dressing is separate. One re-hydrates the seaweed salad part which has seaweed, sesame seeds, agar (from seaweed) and red peppers in it. It was absolutely delicious without the dressing which comes in a separate packet. I discarded the dressing. Why gild the lily? The label says this is two servings. I call it one scant serving. The label does not separate the food value (such as calories and fat) of the dressing versus the salad so it is hard to tell the food values. I would also like to know the iodine content. Since I don't salt my food, I am inclined to be short of iodine.I will definitely keep buying this which is highly portable - good for camping or the office lunch. But I will try to find the same thing in bulk. No need for dressing.

expensive but stellar - without the dressing packet
If you're looking for what you get at a Japanese restaurant, this isn't it and nothing on Amazon will be. I simply wanted a good seaweed product that I could enjoy. I like the quality and flavor of this seaweed, more so when I soak it for 10-15 minutes instead of the stated 5 minutes as it becomes fluffier, softer, and much more voluminous. On the negative side, it is definitely a snack not a meal, and I don't see how it can be 2 servings in that small cup. It's still satisfying, however. I ordered sesame soy dressing and only used it once. It was too sweet and too fake tasting, even though the ingredients are actually quite good. I opted instead to mix in a bit of sesame oil, amino acid soy sauce, and some crushed red paper flakes -- a huge improvement, and it doesn't overpower the seaweed flavor. While too expensive to eat multiple cups per day, I will still be purchasing again for a special treat on mediocre days.

Excellent Seaweed Salad from a dehydrated kit.
Really nice, particularly for a dehydrated seaweed salad. Slightly peppery, but with a nice flavor and a good texture. Do soak in water for a full fifteen minutes as per the fine print (not the five minutes listed in the initial instructions). The kit itself works very well. Made in Osaka, Japan. Nice to always have seaweed salad on hand. Each pack makes a decent size for a side salad for one person. The price for this pack of six kits seems very fair. I am glad to have them ready to use.

A HUGE RIP OFF!!!!!
Ordered this from Amazon Warehouse Deals at a discounted price because of the close to the expiration date, unfortunately even for $1 per pack, the product is still not worth it!!!Firstly, even I let it hydrated for way more than 15 minutes which was only required for 5 minutes,it still filled less than one third of the cup after pour the extra water off!!!Secondly,I totally agree with other reviewers, about the flavor/taste!!!There is no way close to the real Japanese seaweed salad which you get from the Japanese restaurant or Supermarket!!!They are not even the SAME type of Seaweed salad!!! Don't bother to buy this at its ridiculous/insane asking price!!!One dollar for that tiny portion was still too expensive!!!Do yourself a favor to save your money on this one...

Not as pictured
I bought this because I thought it was what they use to make lettuce wraps (which I love) If it is the same type of seaweed, then this product is rather sub par. The product does not look like this, it comes in a clear dixie cup. The taste is not to my liking and the product is not as pictured

Good but expensive
While a good tasting product, it's not as good as the seaweed salad I can buy at Costco but it is on par with what I make myself. It is also very convenient. The biggest downside is that it cost too much for what you get.

Pretty darn tasty !
Nice to have seaweed salad available at home, and not have to go to the store whenever I want it. This has a definite kick from the red chiles, but is still good. The container says it's 2 servings, but even if I eat the whole thing, it's only 90 calories. For those watching their sodium, this is NOT for you- 620mg/serving, so 1240mg/cup. The dressing is good- I'll probably make my own with more rice wine vinegar (I also have my own wakame coming, so will see about making my own salad from scratch). The agar - clear pieces- takes a while to soften up. I let mine sit for 20 minutes, and need to drain it better next time. There is a clear disc of plastic included to help with draining, but it doesn't let me get down to the bottom very well- so will use a small strainer next time. Overall, I'm pleased, and will reorder (already have some more coming). And, I'll let it chill before eating as well as make my own dressing. I am going to look up the sodium content of just the seaweed, and make my own dressing to lighten the sodium 'load'. :)

Nice flavor, let it sit longer than 5 minutes
I wasn't really sure about this but I like the taste of vinegar so I took a chance and it's really good. I don't taste the garlic but the vinegar is nice and bright. I recommend you use hot water and let it sit for at least 20 minutes (I did a half an hour) so that it expands to maximum size and is easier to drain. I don't care for the plastic disc included, which is supposed to help you drain the cup, but using it is messy and awkward. Just pull the lid up slightly and slowly pour the water out over the sink so you only lose a few sesame seeds. I personally think it would have made more sense if they had put a pull off drain vent or something on the lid itself instead of wasting extra plastic with the disc.
