Grew back my mom's hair beautifully.
My mom has type 4b or c or z hair, whatever you want to call it. If you know the Andre Walker system, you know what I mean. It is a beautiful hair type but very fragile. She is 82 years years and last summer, had hardly any hair left in the front--not just the roots but the whole front of her head up to her ears had maybe 1/2 inch or less of hair remaining. In the back, she had some hair, but it was ragged and all different lengths and felt rough. She thought she was going to have to wear a TWA forever, like many of her friends her age who have basically jsut given up on ever having hair and shaved it off. But she did not want to do this. Though she is an older lady, she is very feminine and does not like her looks with this 'boy' type hairstyle.Anyway, to make a long story short, I sent her a bottle of this Jamaican black castor oil and she started massaging her hair and scalp with it. I also made sure that she started sleeping on a satin pillowcase and wearing a satin cap, washing with her remaining hair in braids and using Shea moisture shampoo only on her scalp. I told her to be very low manipulation and she wore a wig to cover up her damaged hair and give it a rest. I taught her to finger comb only and also to use a little protein on her ends about once a month, after she washed. (Joico K-pak). Lo and behold! She lives in Florida and when I returned to visit her, barely 7 months later, her hair had grown so much! the very short patches had grown a lot, the bald patches had filled in and the back had grown BELOW HER SHOULDERS. My mother has never had hair below her shoulders in her life (this is difficult for many type 4b people as this hair type cannot take any abuse at all. It was an unbelievable change. My mother is so happy. She continues to use this product as her scalp massage and moisturizer and her hair is not only growing like a weed but feels very fluffly, soft and not greasy at all. Her goal is to grow her hair enough so that she can wear her natural hair in a bun and not have to wear a wig anymore and it looks like she will make this goal very soon. We are both very happy.P.S I have type 3c hair which is a lot stronger than my mom's (my dad was mixed-race and I got his hair type). I have never had balding or breakage problems the way she does, but I find that this product works well for me, too. I massage a little on my scalp mixed with some peppermint essential oil (few drops) and burdock root oil (which I also bought on Amazon.com) every night and I don't have the itching problems I used to have sometimes before. I think it makes my hair feel a bit softer (I have low porosity hair that tend to be dry) and I like it for me, too.

Great for Alopecia Areata and Non-Scarring Hairloss- Our Grade: B!!
Tropic isle Jamaican Black Castor oil is a great, all-natural alternative to pricier/hormonally regulated prescription-strength products used to treat and control mild to moderate hairloss issues.Pros and Cons:ConsOnly one. All forms of Castor oil can be quite heavy and weird to work with and can leave you feeling like you just walked out of an oil-slick… So you will definitely need to use a small applicator bottle to avoid making a mess when applied to the scalp...ProsCastor oil benefits the entire body, and can literally be used head to toe, (for finer hair types apply at bedtime and shampoo out; for dryer hair types apply and leave in before and after shampooing) and the traditional golden/yellow castor oil can even be added to smoothies for additional internal benefits.Castor oil used in combination with essential oil blends really do stimulate dormant follicles to re-grow hair over time. For larger areas alternate weekly use of JBCO with Emu oil (rotating product every seven days) for 7-12 months to regenerate re-growth of hair.Black Castor oil + Jojoba oil + Avocado oil + Water =/equals a great all-natural follicle stimulator/leave-in base!!Castor oil can be used to treat stretch marks and uneven skin tone.1part (golden) Castor oil + 10parts Coconut Oil + a few drops of vegetable glycerin= great all-natural, nutritive anti-aging body oilCastor oil can be used to treat/condition/loosen skin and scalp areas between surgeries.1part JB-Castor oil + 1-2 parts Coconut oil massaged into skin (beginning 8-12 weeks after stitches have been removedand continuing for six months up to 4weeks prior to next procedure)...-----------------------While it’s true that even non-scarring hairloss can potentially degenerate into permanent hairloss overtime due to lack of follicular stimulation (unique to at-risk ethno groups ref. hairloss ethno-types II, III, IV, V, VI, see Fitzpatrick dermatology scale dmedicis for internal dermatologic medicines ethnogroup/types references types; I/one, II/2, III/3, IV/4, V/5, 6/6)- many people are finding that when used consistently and regularly (every night at bedtime- or twice daily for difficult cases, or at least every other night- or every three days) in conjunction with/layered over/on top of the Alopecia Oil blend (rosemary essential oil, lavender essential oil, thyme essential oil, cedarwood essential oil set in a carrier base of jojoba oil and 100% pure grapeseed oil- that everyone is now talking about— try a google search for more info) can be very beneficial to reversing shedding and even regrowth of hair in documented cases.Tropic Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil can aid in the stimulation and reactivation of dormant follicles triggering re-growth of hair in persons with mild to moderate forms of Alopecia (areata, totalis, and even some instances of mild non-scarring-traction).My younger cousin has a mild but very active form of alopecia-areata and has been using this combo to control symptoms/trigger remission and her hair is now growing normally with fewer episodes, but, as there is no ‘cure’ for immuno-disorders she will have to use the combination forever to maintain and achieve stable remission growth of her hair, but as an investment, it is a very worthy one. ***Also, it is important to note that in most cases, it may take anywhere from 7-12 months to initially see any re-growth at all. But, if after one year of consistent combination therapy, absolutely no change occurs or symptoms do not improve, then it is possible that more aggressive treatment such as carboxy therapy for hairloss or/and steroidal injections (interlesional-corticosteroid-therapy) to the scalp or/and even permanent FUT/FUE restoration surgery or/and laser therapy (or a bit of each) may be required to treat the affected area/s...Note: When choosing your castor oil product, make sure that it only contains ONE ingredient, period, either, pure golden/yellow castor oil OR pure black castor oil, no additional ingredients to thin out or lower the potency of your product. Also, do not use refined or bleached/white castor oil as it will have been stripped of key nutrients. For best results when used on the hair, apply with a small applicator bottle directly to the scalp. And for best results when used on the skin, combine castor oil with other nutritive carrier oils and use as a healing body oil blend.Overall, JBCO, in conjunction with the Alopecia Oil Blend is definitely a worthy addition to your basic hair care regimen and is great for addressing minor skin issues as well. The best black Castor oil Brands:1.
