It helps to have read The Truce at Bakura
I think I would have appreciated this more had I read The Truce at Bakura. Although I've heard that it's a good book, it's not one that I chose to read from the Bantam era in preparation for the NJO. Refugee follows up on that story - and apparently that story was about alien dinosaurs who enslave each other like the Matrix. The whole Force Heretic series was pretty dissatisfying for me, honestly; it drags on at a point in the series when a conclusion should be in view. This seemed to me like the least convenient time to revisit a plot from a very outdated and almost-forgotten Star Wars book. But once again, Nom Anor's plot throughout this series was really interesting, and justifies reading this book. While I enjoyed appearances from the Antilles family, I didn't find reading about the heroes searching a library a very entertaining plot for a Star Wars novel... but you can decide for yourself. Despite its faults, it's hard to say reading a SW book isn't fun - maybe lots of fun if you liked the Truce at Bakura.

Better than MANY NJO
I dont know if this was actaully decent, or if it just seemed good after it's abyssmal predecessor.Either way I came away from this thankful to have not had to wade through another set of victories over the Vong, just to see them start the next book worse off. In fact the Vong were mercifully sparse in this installment, and that may be why I found it a little better than Remnant. We had 3 main storylines, not too many to care about, granted with some good sized splintering within those 3, but still not so much so that you feel like each one only moved a tiny bit forward. In fact with the 2 larger ones mirroring each other well enough, it almost makes you wonder if the authors just had one good idea, and decided to use it on both parties. Han, Leia, Jaina, etc... AND Luke, Mara, Jacen, etc...Both groups went to faroff lands and were victims of double-cross, but overcame them to win through at the end. It is corny, but that is part of what is interesting in Star Wars. Things go to hell, and the good guys either stumble their way through, or just get out by the skin of their teeth - Chewy and Anakin notwithstanding. For everything else you can say about the series, there is no David Eddings style - good guys have all the power and just clobber clueless bad guys all book long. RIP D.E.

Es un libro de Star Wars
Todo perfecto!

Piatto
