Air Counter Radiation Meter Gamma Measuring Device Import From Japan

It came with original Japanese package. Very professional looking. The item actual size is bigger than the Amazon photo feels. We immediately joking the resemblance of Tamagotchi. Japanese written manual and comes with a color booklet edited by a Japanese professor giving instruction about the basic knowledge about radiation. The accuracy range is +- 20%, the sensitivity is at the range of 0.05 to 9.99 micro sievert per hour. Don't be scared for not able to read Japanese. The design is one button detecting and keep it 1 meter/yard above the ground for detection. For people who can read Chinese characters, I think it is less problem about the manual. I guess we can bring it and take a measurement before we start eating Sushi.

It appears to be accurate, it feels very durable, I would recommend this not for laboratory use but for someone who just wants something to know if there is radiation in their house.

Works flawless as far as I Can tell, mixed blessing to read the same levels of gamma radiation in North Carolina as around Fukushima, but better to know. For what it's worth I do have my Lugars iodine also.I'm Probably to old for it to really matter, but what else can one do.
