Exactly what I needed at a great price.
This is exactly what I hoped it would be: a great product at a great price. If you're on the fence because some folks comlain about how rigid it is then perhaps you are looking for a different kind of item altogether. The avg smartphone costs what, 700? Do you want something flimsy holding that? No, you want something firm. You want to walk away or get back to your work and not need to give a second thought to the safety of your phone. At this price point you get some firm construction and clean finish. As pointed out by others you'll want to be mindful of how you adjust the arm. Trying to flex the arm without securing it near the base is obviously going to shorten the life of the product. Similarly, when you need to change the angle of the clip holding your phone loosen the nut first. The arm is rigid. It should be. It does take a little strength to get it the way you want, but nothing excessive. The only person in my family that takes issue with it is my toddler, but again considering what it is holding you don't want something questionable here.I would recommend this again and again. Great product that does exactly what it should at a great price; all while looking good.Bonus: a fabric sheath is on the clip arms that would run the desk. It was a nice design consideration. See 2nd photo.

It looks like something out of a science fiction movie but I don't care, it works!
I could not find a cell phone holder that worked in my car. For one, my cell phone case is very thick and most of the holders couldn't hold onto it. Also, my CD player is positioned low so the holders that went into the CD slot never worked for me. The ones that clipped in the air vent always seemed to weaken and fall out. This one has a nice strong clip that I have positioned in the air vent and then I am able to position the phone at the perfect height with the flexible gooseneck. The clip that holds the cell phone is absolutely perfect. Once positioned, this thing doesn't move at all! I read some reviews about how difficult the gooseneck is to bend and yes, it does take a bit of muscle but that's necessary to make sure it stays where you want it. I am a 40 year old woman who is an admitted weakling and I was able to bend it so I think some people are just being dramatic.

This is trash
I needed it right away so I ended up removing the spring on the clamp that attaches to a table so I could use it. It’s excessively strong to the point that it’s inoperable. I think the average person would find the clamp too strong and difficult to press and open. I’d also be concerned with what that amount of pressure would do to my table. Get a different one, DO NOT BUY THIS.

Great product lot's of options!
I was mainly wanting the goosneck portion. I don't like the suction cups on windshield they are just too far from me in my truck. The gooseneck depending on how and where you can attach it, may not work great. It's a strong clip and has rubber/foam to help grab. But it's such a long neck there is a lot of force on it with a decent size phone. However I was able to unscrew the clamp and bolt it directly to the seat brace in my car and it's fantastic! It has a threaded end and once you unscrew it you can drill a hole the size needed and bolt it right back through. My wife might use the suction cub holder so that's a plus to get it! I prefer the clamp style on the phone side of things as it's easy to grab your phone and very sturdy.

Solid, strong cable, but insufficient clip
After reading a lot of reviews, I have concluded that there is an issue with this device falling off. I have also concluded that the failure to develop muscles beyond those needed to click a mouse has resulted in some serious pansies.Honestly, the steel cable that supports this is stiff, but not impossible. For those who are concerned about having trouble moving it, try this easy strength test: First, find a good-sized book, paperback or hardcover, but 8" or larger and at least 300 pages. Next, hold the book out at arm's length with either arm. Now, bring the book in rapidly toward yourself and hit yourself in the head repeatedly, because you are a whiney little baby. For a substance to be movable into limitless configurations while supporting a 1-3 lb object without sagging is probably going to require some strength. Still, this is a heavy metal cable, not a solid steel bar. You don't need Superman to bend this. Or even Aquaman. I suspect that some people are annoyed because they need to use two hands to adjust the cable and screen attached to it. If their other hand is occupied -- for example, driving a 3500 lb. vehicle at 60 mph. -- maybe that isn't the best time to adjust it.A much bigger problem with this item is that the clip itself is insufficiently strong to hold the weight of the cable and device in place. It has a thin foam pad and a fairly strong spring. The problem is that unless you set this clip to grab on from the top down -- using gravity to help keep it in place -- the clip can slide off. This occurs less frequently when the clip is attached perpendicular to the direction you extend the cable and device. (Imagine the clip attached to a desk's top and the device hovering above the desk.) If you try and clip it parallel to the direction you extend your device or to an object viewed edge on, you can expect it to slip downward or slide away. (Imagine if you clipped it to the sidewall of a bookcase and had the device extended toward a person looking at the books on the shelf.)I liked that they put bands around the hinge jaws as these will almost definitely contact whatever object you clip this onto and the exposed metal there would scratch up those objects. But unless you intend to use this as described, you may want to look for a similar cable where you can use a screw-tightening clamp to hold it in place.
