My first towbar
This towbar is awesome. It was easy to set up. I used it to tow my 94 Jeep Wrangler over 3,000 miles behind a class A RV. It was completely problem free and easy to use the whole way. I love the simple brake cable that relies on simple physics to make the tow vehicle brakes engage when the RV brakes engage. It worked great through steep mountain passes!I don’t really understand the review saying it binds. A very light tap with a small hammer slides those pins right on out. Nothing to it! Simple physics is all.As for the problem of braking the towed vehicle, when I was still researching all of this, a guy calling himself an expert tried to sell me some type of expensive electric box with a ridiculous robotic foot that engages the brakes of the tow vehicle. It was a lot more expensive and complicated than this simple design from NSA products. Look, I’m no engineer, but I certainly understand the concept that extra layers of complexity bring extra opportunities for system failure. I’m glad I went with this beautifully simple and effective NSA towbar.

We are towing our JK Jeep with this NSA Tow Bar System behind our truck camper.
We are towing our JK Jeep with this system. Took a little while to install the pieces, but well worth the effort. Lots of good video on youtube to help you install it. Works great. On Edit: Just towed JK from Southeast to Colorado and back. AFter about 100 miles, I had to make one small adjustment to get the pull cable a little tighter. I had originally left it a little loose to make sure the brakes weren't dragging. After I took about 5 minutes to snug the control cable up a little, the whole NSA tow bar/brake system worked flawlessly for the rest of the 3,000 mile trip, even on the big Colorado mountain passes like Wolf Creek. Braking was smooth, proportional and very effective. Great design, great product.

Awesome Product!!
Used to pull my 2010 Jeep Wrangler with my 31 foot Class C RV. Worked perfectly as advertised, the Ready Brake is impressive on how well it works. Installation of the Ready Brake took a hour or so...I am not mechanically inclined at all. Hook up between the Jeep and the RV was a tad tricky, but I am sure I will get quicker at it as I use it more. Jeep toed nicely. Took a wrong turn and ended up on a downhill single lane dirt road. Jeep never wavered. Highly recommended!!

Easy to use
Easy and fast connection/disconnection of towed vehicle (a Ford Focus wagon). I appreciate the simple effective brake system. I have a small light in the RV cab that lights up when the towed vehicle brake pedal moves. But I was dissapointed to see that the sliding part of the brake mechanism of the towbar were not at all lubricated, even though they are plain steel. I can imagine that had I not disassembled and greased it, it may have stopped working after a year or so. It's a shame such a basic, quick and cheap detail was omitted by the maker, even though it likely caused many unhappy customers.

Pure and Simple!! Built to last!!
Installation of the brake cables to brake pedal took the longest time for me but my situation is atypical (Ford Edge). But in most towing applications these days a baseplate has to be installed so I did everything in one day, taking my time to get everything right! Towed for the first time on a short camping trip 150 miles from home. Interstate, rolling hills, and some pretty crappy roads along the way and this system is awesome!! A pure and simple mechanical system that you set up and adjust once and your done! Hookup takes five minutes! Unhooking takes even less. And a hell of a lot cheaper than the box brakes by Roadmaster and the like!

Great Tow Bar and brake assembly
This thing is great. I researched tow bars and supplemental brake systems before deciding on this due to the mechanical brake, ease of setup and cost. Immediately upon install we towed a Jeep Patriot from Colorado to Alaska and back with a Class C and system worked great. Couldn't be happier.

WARNING..Not the RB-9050!
This is NOT the Ready Brute Elite RB-9050 but the Ready Brute Elite II RB9050-2. If you are looking for the original one THIS IS NOT IT! They know it is incorrect and make excuses but haven't changed the description. I researched and wanted the original RB-9050 since it moves up, down, and rotates. Then new one does not rotate which puts allot of force on the hitch or tow bar mounts. Huge hassle but finally was able to return and receive a refund.

This towbar is great Except for the fact that it is not a no bind towbar. Meaning that when you want to release the arms and telescope them in to release the pressure and you can remove the pins at the car. It is in such a bind that you cannot pull on the red Levers to release it. This takes two people to operate, at least mine has been That tight.I have not ran it for 20,000 miles to get all of the holes rounded out and broken in, I only have 3000 miles on mine. And there is a difference from when the brake light on the dash with the ready break comes on to win the brakes on your car actually begin to apply. I wired in another light to my brake light switch in my car so I knew for a fact win the car brake pedal was starting to move. That way I could fine-tune the brake cable to get just the right time for my brakes to come on. Even though they say that the your brakes will not come on when the motorhome uses the exhaust break or it downshifts they still come on.If you always have two people in the motorhome this towbar is a great tool bar, but if you were by yourself it would be almost impossible to remove Your car in any situation other than perfect Street behind you and level ground.
