It worked! With a little different
It was my first time "bleeding" my mountain bike, first time fixing anything on my bike. Was not difficult at all!! I don't know how much it cost to take it to a repair shop, if it is gonna cost 20$, it definitely worth doing it yourself. My brakes were ShimanoJust note these:- Watch a bunch of youtube videos!- do not, I REPEAT DO NOT spill any oil on the pads, on the break, any oil, any lubricant!! I think I have made that mistake and I have to replace the pads- Oil funnel and the stopper is not included. Should buy separately- the instruction is pretty useful but it says you need a 7mm wrench to unscrew the bleeding screw, I had trouble finding a 7mm wrench in the states, there was 8mm and one size smaller was in inches!!! So I bought one size smaller than 8mm which was 1/4". It didn't fit, too small, so I used an adjustable wrench, not a very good idea! I am gonna try the 8mm one and will update this comment!

Good set - instructions would help
Good set. Only improvement i can think of is for them to add instructions and perhaps some cleaning wipes that can clean any brake fluid spills.I used it to bleed the Shimano SLX brakes (only did the front) of my Scott Scale 950 mountain bike. To avoid losening the brake lever, i laid the bike flat at about 45degree angle so that the lever was level - but made sure the brake lever is still higher then the brake block to ensure air can escape up and out.Only needed an additional alan key to open the valve on brake block and remove the screw from the brake fluid well on the brake lever. Remember to tap the cable and brake parts to help air escape.

Worked as advertised.
Worked as advertised.Seems like an improvement over Shimano's own kit. The top syringe allows you to create negative pressure (which seem like it could free up some bubbles in the line) and to wash fluid back and forth through the system.Shipping was very fast.Customer service was excellent. They initially shipped the wrong item, but were able to ship the correct one in time for my weekend ride. Some additional tips:1) Before filling the bottom syringe with fluid, push the flexible tube onto the filler nipple to stretch it out. The hardest part of this was trying to attach the tube to the nipple without getting air bubbles in the tube, or spilling fluid on the floor.2) Get some popsicle sticks for brake work. I used 4 stacked together in lieu of a bleeder block. I use a single popsicle stick to hold the brake pads apart when removing the wheel for transport.

It didn't work for me
I looked forward to bleeding a set of shimano M985 brakes, but still ended up going to a shop to take care of the job. The syringe that attaches to the brake lever up front isn't removable. There is a stopper that prevents this from happening. That created back pressure and ultimately inability to finish the job. I also would have liked to see something more substantial than a zip tie to hold the hoses in place while pushing fund into the lines. It turns out I would need to purchase a couple different items for this kit to be considered complete. I can't recommend this kit for anyone without a good amount of experience doing this job previously. Aldo, their website has been down since I bought it.

Wasted $$ except for the fluid
Needs instructions or a proper youtube video for this specific kit. I must have watched over 20 youtube videos and NONE of them really matched this kit. I still have no idea if I even did the bleed correctly. I probably will still end up buying a funnel kit with proper instructions. Wasted $$ except for the fluid. All it needed was some simple instructions and small hose clamps to keep air out etc.. I notice other kits in the same price range have small hose clamps included.Comes with everything in the photo. Fluid seems decent.

Great - Works as advertised
This just saved me $100 in LBS fees to bleed my 2012 XT brakes. You'll have to search for the instructions online since the kit did not come with the most recent instructions to bleed my brakes. works great and is almost mess free. would buy again in a heartbeat since this has everything you need to get it done (sans mech tools)

Works fine but pricey!
Sent it back $22 was just to much for what you get. Looks fine in the ad but not when you see what it is.

A must have
My Shimano breaks were getting a little spongy and needed a bleed. I bought this based on other reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Was easy to use and did a great job. I would recommend. I watched a few youtube videos prior use and that was a big help. I would recommend.
