Do not sink wash in hot water.
I see some people think it's plastic but it is definitely stainless steel... I know this because after a couple of washes in the sink, the paint started to blister and peel off. Such a shame as it's a fantastic design and it does the job, it just starts to look a mess VERY quickly.
