You can comfortably place your hand around the 4 inch handle.

Q: How wide is the blade at its widest point?

The blade of this serrated edge knife is 1-3/8 inches wide at its widest point. This is just below the handle of the knife. I love this knife! I use it all the time and it is a great tool!

Q: Does the bread knife come with a cover/ sheath to protect blade?

It comes with a clear plastic sheath to cover blade, the box it comes in is also reusable

Q: Can you sharpen this serrated knife when it gets dull? Some knives that are serrated cannot. Please have the manufacturer respond.

It depends on the sharpener. Most sharpeners, no. There is however a manual sharpener by Chefologist that will sharpen a serrated knife. It's a small round sharpener that suction's to table for stability.
