Simple way to make homemade ham and deli meats
I wanted to try something new with my venison this year and used the press to make venison " ham" and deli meats, Works well and keeps good pressure on the meat while being cured and cooked. There are many recipe to be found on the web and you can easily make your own ham, or a variety of deli meats using poultry , beef or pork with the greatest advantage of being able to control the amount of salt ( sodium) if you on a sodium restricted diet. The amount of flavors you can make are as far as your imagination can take you . I also did find that using the insert bags make unmolding the meat much easier, but either way clean up is a breeze.

It works very well, well designed and easy to clean.
I like stainless steel construction and a well tensioned pressure pad. My only suggestion for this product would be a use instruction manual and a few seasoning recipes.

Wonderful Pressed Ham Maker
To start, I just have to say that I still find it so funny that they call these magnificent devices "Pressed Ham Makers", when they are custom cold-cut makers and you can use any kind of meat you want. This works just like all the others, just as instructed. Because instructions are available everywhere and this is a type of cooking pot or pan, just like a saucepan, they didn't include any, but it does function identically to how the pressed-ham recipe sites all direct you to use it. My favorite is still chicken with all kinds of things added to it. Essentially, you puree meat, whatever kind you want, add whatever the recipe calls for or whatever you feel like adding, then use the pressing mechanism to press the plate down on your meat, then you place this is hot water, standing, as the water cooks the meat into "pressed ham", if you use pork, a sliceable loaf of meat that we usually call "cold cuts". It works very well and does a great job, because it is identical to the others on the market. I love it and I'm very pleased. Ham makers are one of the great joys of cooking, at least for me, and I do recommend reading about how to use it, if it's new to you, and also checking out some of the recipes on fan-sites online, because there are so many amazing recipes for homemade cold cuts. You can put all kinds of things into your cold cuts and you can actually slice it thicker and eat a nice large designer piece of meat with all kinds of things infused into it, just with a side of vegetables. It's got so many options for what you can make. Turkey and cranberry or chicken with all kinds of seasoning, basically anything you could want can be made with this. Good luck in your search.

Id love to be able to USE this but....
There are NO directions. Well, unless you count the bits on the package itself. But, it doesn't explain how to use it, what temps to use, how long to use it for...nothing. I am really disappointed in this and would have given it zero stars if I could.Perhaps if they had directions this would have been an awesome thing?
