Bright beautiful ambience
Just what I was looking for! Beware of the tangle issues (headache) but, well worth the patience.

Pretty and Bright
The lights don't heat up and have a pretty warm glow to them. The plug is a good length and is durable. The only odd thing about the lights is that when I unplug them, there's some last surge of electricity or something because they will flicker once maybe a few seconds after being unplugged. They still work fine, though!

Perfect for deck/patio lighting
I purchased two of these strings to use as deck rail under lighting (an application where rope lighting would typically be used). In my case, rope lighting wasn't practical since it would have required a lot of "deconstruction" to the existing deck rails to keep rope lights hidden. These LED string lights were a perfect alternative. It cannot be stated enough: these lights and its wire are TINY! They can easily be pushed up into small crevices and hidden quite easily. Even in daytime, the strings are so small, it's very easy to not notice them in plain sight. The light output is definitely a warm white, slightly pinkish, but the angle you view the lights at can affect its color temperature (some reviewers claim that the individual LEDs have inconsistent color temps - its actually the viewing angle that may cause the slight differences). The individual LEDs are tiny, but very bright for their size. The wire is silver in color, very thin and coated in clear insulation. It reminds me of thin speaker wire. When bent it is rigid enough to hold its position. The lead wire from the transformer to the first LED is very long at 10 feet, which is great for projects like mine, but may be excessive for other applications. However, the extra wire can be coiled up into a very small space since the wire is so thin.Advice for people who want to use these lights for permanent or seasonal outdoor use: The transformer that the light string plugs into is small, but based on its design, WILL stick out from a receptacle outlet over 3 inches. Since the transformer portion is not weatherproof, it should be housed inside a "while in use" outlet cover. This will require a deep depth outlet cover that many homes are not equipped with. Plan on spending another $10-12 if you need one.

Beautiful, bright, versatile, and powerful beyond their small and very handy size!
I love these lights! I've bought about five strings of them and will buy more. I started buying them last year. They're beautiful, small, bright, and versatile, and reasonably priced. I use them around our porch columns and have even used them behind a "Christmas shepherd" silhouette I built. (Full disclosure: There are some other lights behind those fellows, too, but I added these to great effect!) The star and column in the picture are lit completely by these lights. The seven-foot black electrical cord on the end of the string of lights is really helpful because you have that many feet unlit and can "cord" over to your power source. I am SO glad these are plug-in lights. Battery powered lights of this general type are not bright enough, IMHO, and I do NOT want to have to replace batteries. The only thing I'd change about these lights has to do with their initial packaging. Unless your are VERY careful unwrapping them the first time, you'll have knots in the string. What you will want to do is to have a 1 X 4-inch or so piece of waste cardboard, a small piece of pvc pipe, a dowel, or something along that line to use to wrap them, in kite string fashion, as you unwind them for the first time, and you'll want to keep that to use in the future. They used to come wrapped around a little piece of waste cardboard and it was very helpful. The new way is harder, but I think the lights are even better than they were. I even use these during the Christmas season when I'm doing Christmas shows. I wrap them around my Bose "tower" speaker, and it becomes part of the festive occasion. I like these lights!

LED lights on silver wire
Love these little lights - they are going to look great on my Christmas tree (an artificial silver tree - can't use regular lights as most commonly they are on green cord).Lots of "lead" wire to get from the plug to the tree and overall length is generous. It is true that there is some variation in the light colour- some are a little cooler than others (more blueish). I don't consider that a problem.Good price, fast shipping - this is my second set. I may have to buy more!

fantastic
These lights are great, highly recommend! We used them as accent lighting around our deck. We also bought the battery operated ones as well which worked well as lighting in our small ornamental trees.
