Our Morning Star pattern is based on a quilt pattern that has a long history rooted in our First Nations. The morning star features prominently in Lakota culture as the " Great Spirit's breath". It was painted on buffalo hide robes and then on sewn into quilts. Light streams from pierced holes to create a spectacular pattern. Perfect as a night light or to add light to a dark corner. Pattern has more than 2325 piercings. Height 9.6 inches, Shade Diameter 5.5 inches. Includes tinplated steel shade and base and light bulb. 6' cord with in-line switch. Uses a standard chandelier bulb. Easy to care for. No polishing required. Tin is an extremely slow to tarnish. Made in Canada It’s hard to describe the effect of our Punched lamps. At shows people as they wander down the aisles stop in their tracks. We often hear a “wow” as they walk mesmerized into the booth. After gazing at the variety of patterns they often say “it looks like crystals”. Unlike any other similar product our lamps really sparkle. It is in the way way we punch or pierce the material. We do not actually remove any material in the process. The jagged edge refracts the light in conjunction with the direction of the piercing combine to give the effect. But there is more to these than just being lamps! We designed the shade to easily lift of the base. That way it can be used with a candle for a different effect indoors or out. Really it is 2 lamps in one!
