Sensor Check - Sensor Cleaning Loupe - Check

First off, I got this since its the same brand as the Eclipse cleaning solution. And this is my first sensor loupe and the first time I have to clean my own sensor since previously, I was using cameras with highly effective sensor cleaning.I have both a Nikon D3 and Nikon D700. The Nikon D3 sees a lot of action while the D700 is relative new in my inventory and has not seen much action either. When I first used the loupe on my Nikon D700, I cannot make heads or tails. It says that there are something like rubber feet to help hold the loupe securely. And the promo picture shows a 5D which means it should work with full frame cameras without issue. I have a hard time getting it to fit, in fact, I can't fit it at all. It stands on its own nicely, but my idea is that it should fit snugly like how the lens would fit onto the body.Next is the magnification itself. 5X is fine, but I can't focus anything. It supposedly can rotate to focus but when I rotate until the whole thing pops out, I can't get my sensor in focus, I can get the front of the chamber in focus though.Since this is my first sensor loupe, I have no idea if its supposed to be working like this or not. I can see dust, but it has to be pretty big and its blur. But when I swing the glass away, I can see the dust on my sensor perfectly fine. Making this pretty much an expensive sensor ring light. I'm not sure if it means that only big dust can be viewed albeit out of focus. And my D3 recently was cleaned by Nikon and now I only have 3 dust spots which is not really visible at f11 which is the usual max I would shoot at. I will update this review when I have something to update.

The Sensor Check scope is a terrific product needed to view the low pass filter on any digital SLR that needs cleaning. I searched for many days before selecting this one on Amazon. This loupe provides decent light to show what needs to be cleaned inside the camera. It also swivels so you can clean and still view inside simultaneously. The manufacturer includes a very nice case with it and it also comes with a set of batteries allowing you to use it without delay. There is plenty of magnification to uncover the smallest particles of dirt inside the camera. It also is a great item to use when cleaning any item like lenses, optics and glasses. I've even used it to remove splinters from a finger.

I can not say for any other model. the focal distance from the loupe lens and the camera sensor is way off. The loupe should sit probably 1/2 inch closer to the camera. Since the objective of the loupe is not glued, you could take it off from the loupe, but then you would not have a benefit of buying LED lighted loupe, right?the built quality is what you pay for. except the glass, it's all plastic. which I did not care. I was looking for an inexpensive loupe.a simple magnifier with LED pen light works better for D600

Although the product is well made and the base is adjustable, I was not able to get it to "fit" in my Nikon mount camera, that said it does show the dust but you still have to remove it to do the actual cleaning, so it is best for before/after checking.

Unit arrived with dead batteries. After replacing with new batteries I purchased, it worked okay.

Works Ok - would have liked it to be brighter. Do like the way is swings out to let you clean easily.

I had a spec of dust on my sensor, right up in the corner where every shot of the sky ended up with a dark spot. I tried blowing it to no avail. With this and and a cleaning swab kit, it was easy to get in there and clean it up. The case is nice too, it is made of that that hard formed cloth weave with a zipper.

A sturdily built unit that does what it is suppose to do.The LED is bright enough for me to peer inside the sensor to see the accumulated dusts.The scope move to the side to accomodate the entrance of the cleaning apparatus into the sensor and swing back to place for another check on the sensor to make sure the dust are gone.

Quality okay for the price but misleading with the 'fits any DSLR' I have a Canon 1DX and it wouldn't focus close enough so it got returned. Shame really as the pouch etc would have made it perfect for travel

Loupe très fonctionnelle, l’éclairage est puissant.Elle se tient très bien sur mon EOS 60D (et il y a un petit "rail" amovible pour les appareils à baïonnette moins large).On peut décaler la loupe de 45° pour mieux atteindre le capteur sans avoir à l’ôter de l'appareil.Les piles (2x CR2032) sont "protégées" avant 1e utilisation par une languette plastique.L'étuis fourni est de bonne qualité.La loupe est "réglable" en profondeur (système de pas de vis) et peut donc être totalement dévissée, ce qui permettra de la nettoyer plus facilement si besoin.C'est ma première loupe de nettoyage de capteur.Je m'attendais à mieux voir les poussières/taches sur le capteur vu comme elle me semblaient visibles sur certaines photos, mais en réalité c'est assez petit.Le grossissement est quand même suffisant pour confirmer que le nettoyage a bien été efficace.Pour info, j'ai nettoyé le capteur avec des "sensor swab" et le produit qui va avec. En respectant bien les indications : Une goutte de produit sur chaque coin du bâtonnet, et un passage dans chaque sens sans appuyer, ça marche nickel.Sans loupe, je n'aurai pas osé.

Permet de voir toutes les poussières.L'éclairage est bien puissant et la housse de qualité protège bien comme il faut.
