There's a reason I bought eight of these....
I don't do a lot of reviews but I try to find the time with a product that is extraordinary -- extraordinary good or bad. And I review products that I have used in conjunction with other items very successfully, to help out prospective purchasers. This sand anchor really did the trick. I rented out my beach house for the first time this year. Lake Erie, every summer week. I bought four of these. You gotta work pretty hard to get them in, my sand is pretty compact. But you want it to be difficult, so they won't come out with the wind easy either, They're just about right, I could not probably have gotten them in much farther if they were longer. And the umbrella goes in about a foot or so. I paired them with the 7.5 foot diameter Mainstays umbrellas at Walmart. $24.88 each. They're big enough but not too big and have a wide pole, which I think is important. You can buy umbrellas with an integral screw but I think that is a dumb idea. Harder to install and if something breaks the whole thing breaks. And I like the thumbscrews on this sand anchor, plenty big and easy to turn. All in a a fine product. I'm about to buy four more, for two more umbrellas I just bought, and a couple spares. I'm gonna put the sand anchors down next to a couple others and guests can move them around. BTW the Walmart umbrellas fit nicely in a 129 gallon resin deck box. Very nicely. I suspect they would fit the 130 gallon Costco deck box too.

Works Really Well
This works really well. It's easy to screw in, and doesn't work loose, even in windy conditions. It holds the umbrella pole securely. The handles seem to be quite sturdy.

Don't hit the beach without one!
Moved to the beach late in the season, was able to grab a beach umbrella at a local beach shop, but didn't know that these anchors are MANDATORY. After a gust of wind uprooted our un-anchored beach umbrella, which then nearly impaled an unsuspecting beach goer, we packed it in and went home. After two day Prime shipping, we were back in business, and now Life's a Beach, and our fellow beach bums are safe!

Don't bring your umbrella to the beach without this!
I just recently found out about umbrella anchors, unfortunately after I had an umbrella destroyed by the wind after a windy day at the beach. This anchor was a great price and worked great. The orange doesn't really match our umbrella but not a big deal. It helps dig your umbrella in and keep it in place perfectly! You just twist it into the sand and stick the umbrella in. It has a little knob you screw in to lock in the umbrella. Definitely get yourself one!

Works great at our sandy beach
We go to a beach along the Feather River which has really deep sand, and this thing screws right in and does a great job holding up our umbrella. No need to pay more. This works great.

More than 1 use!
Good an solid. I actually use this to hold my dog (85lbs) while at the beach. Works great for that also!

Doesn’t dig tight hole to hold
No matter how hard you push or twist or turn it just doesn’t seem to go down far enough or create a tight enough hole to even hold weight of the umbrella! This was a beach failure... tried two different lakes/beaches and types of sand with no success!

Excellent
Excellent. Holds firm in fine Florida sand and holds umbrella firm in wind. Have been using almost a year. Would definitely recommend. Easy to use too
