This is an amazing quality booklet with a bundle of fun Italian. You can flip a random page and read "Horny Italian" for the night and put it back to your shelf where it looks great, or you can study it all and then put your knowledge on test later. The content is well selected and applies to a wide-range of casual conversations. The presentation and page design is very handsome, engaging and practical.If you plan to go to Italy for the summer, buy it; if you took Italian at some point in your life and want to spice it up your language passion, buy it; if you think Italian is cool and you don't mind just knowing "the essentials ;) ;)" yes, buy it.

A friend had recommended this based on his version in French. It is, indeed, a lot of Dirty Italian. To be honest, I love it - not sure how comfortable I would be using most of it - while the book suggests that some things are pretty bad, I just don't know how much I want to get beat up in Italy!

When you learn another language you learn the "proper" words. When you go to another country you hear the everyday street language, words which are usually not taught in class. Just like in your native language the words used in other daily street languages change over time. Learning the street language takes just as much time and effort as learning the "proper" words, phrases, & sentences but is generally more fun. This book is an excellent first book for learning the necessary street language or to update your knowledge to know if you are being given directions or an insult. Linguistics & languages are my hobby so I use a lot of language learning materials. This book is definitely prominently situated on my bookshelf. I highly recommend it.

Sometimes being a student of a new language can be taxing on your self-confidence! "Dirty Italian" actually has real grammar lessons & drills; gave me the correct Italian grammar for the "dirty" phrases I already learned from my southern Italian family; and made me smile! It is small enough to put in my pocketbook & read on the subway. It's a perfect book if you need to "lighten up" on your Italian skills!!! Enjoy

I am Italian, and always wanted to know some of the "spicier" phrases of the language. I don't speak Italian, save a few of the common words. This book contains, not only, the naughty explitives I have heard other people who speak fluent Italian use, but also some of the more congenial phrases. It's a fun book. Now I can say naughty things in Italian and it sounds beautiful instead of crassness of the same words in English.

What's the first question someone asks when learning a new language? "What are some swear words and fun phrases?" Well, this is the book to answer those (and more!) questions! When Italian class is sparse (3 or fewer students show up) or the group is just "done" with all the learning, we pull this little gem out and it adds a bit of life to the party. Definitely adult-themed....

I got this along with several other Italian books. I was not expecting it to be so dirty. Not complaining though! This helped me supplement what the Italians would not teach me. Just cannot beat a real Italian to learn the language. They just won't teach you everything. :)

This book was a present to my boyfriend who has a sister living in Italy. We have already used it a few times to send her little jokes.. It is pretty funny, the only bad thing is, it has the same phrases throughout the book. It's a little repetitive. Other than that, Enjoy!

I don't have much knowledge of the Italian language and so this book isn't helping me much at the moment, but i am learning phrases and the like which are rather funny, and I know once I have grasped the basics, I will be able to use this book to the maximum extent!It really is a good buy at a great price!

Well, if you're a beginner learning Italian, like me, a seasoned Italian speaker, or even Italian, you'll find exactly what you're looking for here. This book has the 'palle' not to say 'fegato' to include just about every slang expression or swear word you're ever likely to hear, let alone use, including 'espressioni' and synonyms. It's divided into ten sections, each one comprehensively and just about exhaustively taking you on a journey through the mean streets and dingy basements of the Italian language. That's no mean feat. However, it's not just a list of words and phrases. There are plenty of explanations and useful advice throughout the text and it was these parts of the book that impressed me the most.An excellent, well laid out, comprehensive and highly intelligent book that pulls no punches and teaches you how NOT to be 'un malandrino'... Good book for finding out those phrases that you might not otherwise learn the meaning of. Presented in humourous way and well laid out.
