Perfect Study Textbook! This textbook gives a very in depth view of health insurances. I took a course in billing, but it seemed to only skim of the top of the great complexities of how to use it appropriately in the healthcare field. Whether you are a Health Unit Coordinator, Medical Administrative Assistant or Receptionist, this book gives you everything you need to know and more about insurance and how to apply its complex rules, ICD-9 and ICD 10 coding as well. It allows you to understand the purpose for why the procedures work the way that it does and it is done in easily even with the terminology we would use in healthcare. It also has great resources using it's online platform and its 59 day trial code. (be sure to use it towards the end of the textbook so you will be able to use the information you have learned to gain the experience of how it works, because the cost of total access is kind of high) This is a very rich textbook, and I was able to get it used, brand new. If you are really interested in having a full rich knowledge of billing in any position in healthcare that is administrative, this textbook is a great resource.

Very thorough, informative

This book is pretty decent to be a used book. All of the pages are intact and the highlighting is minimal. I bought it b/c the digital book was too cumbersome to navigate;besides, there is nothing like holding a book in your hands. Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase.

This book is helpful for anyone who needs to know how insurance claims are actually developed, that is, medical coders, billing specialists and anyone in the health insurance field. The first few chapters are heavily loaded with history and the evolution of government health care programs, which have to be known for some of the tests/activities. Once past this, the real learning begins.I particularly liked the two interactive programs that came with this brand-new book. These programs require passwords that are unique to each book, so if you buy a used one, don't expect for them to work, as they expire a certain amount of time after activation. Those who are SERIOUS about learning the material to become experts in their fields will want to use these extra learning activities. A note to anyone who is learning coding as a second career (say those who are 50+ years old): Some of the activities are "kiddie games" that may seem silly at first. Try them anyway or find at least one you enjoy. They will help make this often dry and difficult material a bit more fun.

This is an AWESOME book I love the color coding, explanation, examples, concise protocols of the language, it is understandable, I ordered the 11th Edition, but recieved the 10th so I sent back the 10th. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the 11th edition there were free resources for webisites which enhanced my learning capability. I took a test for a job and it just so happen that they used this book for the test questions; that was something I found out on luck. I ordered the 11th Edition from the same vendor RentU. I trusted that they would send me the correct one and I recieved it the next day (l believe).I plan to open a medical billing home based business with in the next year this will help out a great deal.
