Bought these as a safety net because I don’t have old towels for cleaning up spills. Washer overflowed and flooded the laundry room. No problem, right? Grabbed all four of these towels and put them down. Done! Oh no, they DO NOT wick up the water. I had to step on them to get them to absorb the water. Then, once saturated, they hold the water and VERY difficult to wring out. Had to hang them up so the water could drip out. Needless to say, the four towels did not hold all the water and I had to use paper towels (which was exactly what I was trying to avoid). SO disappointed in this product. Lesson learned - buy locally.

These chamois suck - suck up a LOT of water!Fantastic purchase - was the least expensive when I did a search and would definitely buy again.They don't shrink with usage and hold up fantastically through multiple wettings/dryings/launderings.Would totally buy again

Ordered this artificial German-made chamois because I've used it in the past. When it is moist it soaks up water like a sponge - and almost instantly. Wet it, squeeze or gently wring out the water, plop it down on a spill, wait a few seconds, pick it up and wring it out. It's that fast. Like a natural chamois, this isn't made for scrubbing but for absorbing liquids anywhere and for spotlessly drying smooth surfaces. To get a long lifetime, it's best not to wring it forcefully but gently and not to scrub any surface, especially not rough surfaces. For it's intended purpose, this German-made chamois is better than anything else I know of. Highly recommend it.

Exactly what I have been looking for the past two years--past finds have been paper thin and held very little liquid.. Good quality, holds lots of water, and is worth the money.

I've only used it once so far but my opinion is that it works more like a towel than a chamois. I will, if I deem it necessary, update my review in the future after I've used the product a few more times.

Not at all what I expected. I was expecting a REAL shammy, turns out looks like felt. Very disappointed. Was planning on using for some southwest decor, now drawer liners?
