I am a picky coffee drinker and I have to say that this is a home-run! So I don’t even drink “coffee” per se, I drink espresso— And I drink a lot of it. I am also not an instant coffee or powered tea kinda girl usually. I have a small espresso machine at home but my office coffee machine sucks. I always have these stocked up in my desk! It’s pretty cost-effective too especially compared to buying out. Also, it dissolves pretty quickly in hot OR cold water.

I discovered this espresso while in Canada and fell in love. It’s expensive because it’s being imported, but it’s still SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than getting espresso at a coffee shop. I don’t think anyone would suspect that this was instant if they didn’t know. I’m angry that Nestle doesn’t just sell this in the U.S. I’ve tried a few other types of instant espresso (Medaglia D’Oro and Cafe Bustelo) and didn’t find them as smooth or sweet as the Nescafe Gold. They also didn’t have the fluffy crema. BEWARE THE SHIPPING PACKAGING! I normally order a 3 pack of these and they arrive in a row, side-by-side, wrapped with bubble wrap and have a piece of corrugated cardboard between each jar. I’ve never had issues with the 3 pack. My 2 pack arrived with 2 jars just sitting in a plastic shipping envelope with no protection at all. When I opened the envelope it was filled with espresso powder as one of the jars had broken inside, presumably during shipment. I don’t know if 2 packs are always shipped this way, but hopefully Amazon will better protect these in the future as it will save them time and money and upset less customers. I recommend getting the 3 pack just in case. This is also the smoothest powder of the instant espressos I’ve tried, making it great for other than drinking. I put a bit of heavy cream, sugar, and espresso powder in a mug and whip it with my milk frother to make an instant espresso mousse as a treat to eat with a spoon or put on top of everything and anything.

Can’t even salvage the jar lost because the glass shattered and there are tiny bits through the powder, even with a sifter (I tried). it’s harder and harder to get this coffee and I figured if I went ahead and bought 6 by the time I go through it the shortage will be over. I use a mix of different type coffees depending on the day I’m going to have lol. I have this, javy concentrate, and regular brewed coffee I put in a glass jar to cool and pour over ice and instant latte sachets. So I don’t go through it to very fast. It just sucks to be short a jar at the price increase they implemented because of popularity. It was $6 something a jar and now some places online are charging $20/jar it’s crazy, even this store went from $44/6 jars to I see $64/6 jars by the time mine was delivered $20 hike in the same week that’s crazy to me but it is what it is I guess. Time to figure out how to make my own like I did with coffee creamer and extracts 😂. But I do like the flavor and ease of use this has for a nice kick to my iced coffees working 12 hr shifts over nights.
