Full on information on many plants.
I am growing open-pollenated seeds in my vegie garden in order to save seeds year over year, true to type. This manual, written by professors of horticulture, is chock-full of information on all types of plants. I could open a nursery from my own home by saving and planting not only vegies but all sorts of herbs, flowers, fruits, trees, and shrubs (as noted on the front cover). Worth every single penny.

What a valuable book!
I learned so much from this book even in the first 24 hours I had it. It tells not only how to save seeds, but how best to get them to germinate. Wow! I am so glad I bought this! As someone who doesn’t like guess work in planting a garden or anything else, this is a valuable resource that I will use for many years to come - probably the rest of my life. I cannot say enough good things about this book!

Seed saving BIBLE
This book gives you a plethora of information as to WHY you have to do things a certain way, you aren't left with questions as to "what if I did it this way?" or "what about that?". If you are inquisitive, this is a great answer to your gardening needs. No reason to invest hundreds to thousands of dollars over time gardening when you can save seeds and MONEY. This is a great investment for knowledge and really is important to those achieving self sustainability. Not just saving seeds but how to store them, how to germinate and start the process again, it's great information! BUT... I have an olive tree and this book does not include how to save seeds/store/germinate in the event I am ready to add another, over all I didn't see anything else missing!

You won't regret this book!
This book is a wealth of knowledge. Especially if you are wanting to get serious about self reliance and homesteading. The beginning of the book covers seed biology, growing plants for seeds, harvesting and cleaning seeds, seed stage, germination, sowing seeds and transplanting and breeding your own varieties! Wow! The rest of the book is layer out in sections of vegetables, herbs, flowers and nuts and seeds. The ind3x in the back is fantastic for looking up some plants as many are found through the chapters under their lesser known names. When you look up a plants common name in the index it redirects you to is more technical name and tells you were in the book to find it. 10 outta 10 would recommend!

Incredible Resource
I bought "Seed to Seed" years ago and loved it. This is a huge improvement. It gives so much more information, is very clear and easy to understand, and is nearly an all-in-one resource. Even plants that aren't covered in the book can be understood since the basics are given in detail.I have read through it once, referenced it several times during planting this season, and plan on reading through it again after harvest in order to prepare for next year.I highly recommend this for anyone who owns or plans on owning a seed bank, or for anyone growing in their garden/back yard. Unless you grew up farming, most of the information here will be new to you.

Informative
I was so thrilled to receive this book as I have wanted to try saving seeds for a long time now. It is a very comprehensive and technical book. However, there is lots of good information in there that I will be able to apply this season. I am mostly interested in saving seeds for vegetables, but the book encompasses herbs, perennials and even tress. Outlines all the basics on plant pollination, propagation, how to save seeds and proper germination. The handy guide at the back listing specifics for each plant is great.
