Amazing state of the art pinball table, set in the Star Wars universe.
This is a very fun pinball table with just the right amount of gimmicks. I'm glad I opted for the premium table with the hyperspace loop, the hyperspace loop is one of the coolest things I've seen in pinball. It accelerates the pinball in an orbit around the table at "hyperspeed". This is the main thing you get for the extra price for the premium table versus the pro. Is it worth the $2000 premium? Probably-- it really makes the table. The Death Star also explodes with the premium table, although that doesn't happen too frequently. The Death Star lasers are pretty cool as well, how many people have a functional battlestation with lasers in their home? The game has multiple missions that are somewhat influenced by the "characters" you choose to play as (Han, Luke, Leia, or R2D2). The lighting effects in this table are superb and change the table dramatically during missions. For example, during the mission Escape from Bobba Fett the table strobes, during a lightsaber dual you are supposed to hit red or blue shots and the table alternates between red and blue. This is a classic pinball experience with a heavy star wars theme. You've got great targets, ramps, loops, multiball experiences and multiple missions that dramatically change the table via lighting effects. The video monitor isn't distracting and it's all very well tied in with the pinball action. The comic art is super cool, it fits very well with the pinball theme, and is a piece of art worth collecting. The only downside is that the table doesn't come with the inner art blades, which are a separate purchase from Stern for $80. (You can see the inner art blades in the photo behind the Falcon and Death Star. Without the art blade stickers, that would just be a black background.) I'd also recommend adding a rumble motor, also available from Stern or 3rd parties, which is the equivalent of adding a subwoofer to your sound system. It adds a bit of dimension to the in-game explosions. All in all, this is a great table, a great classic pinball experience with lots of things to do and focus on. For an in-home experience, you can also tweak settings such as ball save timers to make the game a little more forgiving.
