Never thought I'd be critiquing a urinal, however from my brief experience using these urinals, I have a few comments. Foremost is the handle. My hands aren't extremely large, but I have had some difficulty in securely grasping these urinals. The space between the handle and the urinal is, for me, too small. Next on the list is the edge around the opening. It is sharp! Bad enough that I have to use these, but to be painful when doing so, makes the experience undesirable. Then there are the caps. They're useless. Finally, there is something that I do like. The bottle is made with heavier plastic than many of the others. It's comforting to know that the urinal and it's handle won't bend or collapse when you're using it. I wish I could recommend this item, but there are too many negatives for me.

Not a bad urinal, for a urinal. It is probably the thickest urinal I have ever had over the last fifty years. I have passed thousands of kidney stones as a result of catching my urine in a urinal and then straining it for stones to assure I have passed a stone rather than having some other urinary issue. This urinal functions quite well and is definitely better in quality than any I have had before at this price level. I will definitely buy one of these again when these two "wear out". HA! As I am now 73, I imagine I will not need many more of these before I kick the bucket, but I do recommend this brand to anyone needing a urinal to sit on top of the commode for handy use. The handle is closed so this urinal will not fit over a bed rail or a towel rack, so don't expect that. It has to sit on something so don't buy it is hanging on a rail is the reason you want it. Otherwise, I do recommend it to anyone needing a sturdy urinal.

Every time my husband gets his kidney stones blasted, he has to use one of these for about a week -- so far we haven't had any issues with leaks (even had to use it in the car once). Just fill with water before first use to make sure no surprise leaks, and then handle it like something you don't want to spill. (Always set it upright) Think of the cap as being there to keep the stink in - I'm not sure they are intended for you to expect not to leak from cap if you lay it on the side or toss it around.

I like the sturdiness/thickness of this product. The lip that locks the lid in place matches the lid, giving a comforting snap as it locks to seal. This is unlike some other brands that have thinner material, making a crisp, solid, fast and easy seal impossible. I like the sturdy D handle as well. I've twisted the hanger/handles off of two competitors products. HOWEVER one of the lid retainer straps came off of its retainer peg. I put it back on; it pops off ... It's maddening.Here we are almost a year later and BOTH lids are ... crap! The lids have both broken into multiple pieces even after being reinforced both outside and inside with thick metallic repair tape. I still like the jugs and handles very much ... HOWEVER, if your desire is to use these jugs for their intended purpose AND have them seal spill-proof and water tight you'd better prepare to replace this product every three to six months. Again, the jugs are great. The lids are atrocious! Good Luck!

Maybe 600 ml - I have already two much larger ones and similar to ones I used in the hospital and THEY ARE 1200 ml. These I bought here are about half that size, and really too small for an average sized male and I am much bigger than average. I will not buy these again, they are thin walled and the top -while it does snap on- doesn't give you much confidence it will stay on- because it came off twice on two of the four I ordered (2 orders of 2 each), and they are not "thick" walled as claimed but quite thin. They hold their shape but that's about it. I do write good reviews for products I like but also not so good ones for those I don't.

As s new wheelchair user these urinals come in handy and unlike other plastic urinals which have an opening in the handle that would cause splash back, these are not like that. Way better than what the hospital provided. These are also sturdier. Glad I picked em up. Would recommend these over the type that are open in the handle.

THESE ARE NOT NORMAL URINALS!!! Don't absentmindedly order these! The handle is connected at both ends -- it cannot go on a bed railing or hang on anything, unlike every urinal I've ever seen or used. I can't imagine the benefit of this design. I tried cutting the handle to make a gap, but the handle is hollow and fully connected to the body, so it's useless. The plastic is fairly firm, but not the firmest available. If for some reason you have no need to hang a urinal and want a more sturdy handle....I guess this is OK? Buyer beware!

While certainly sturdier than the ones that hospitals often give you, I cannot recommend this for elderly users. The problem is with the handle design. It is closed, rather than open, which means that it cannot be hung beside the bed, whether on a walker, wheelchair or bedside rails. Another problem is that the hinge for the cap is very small and flimsy. I cannot see it as lasting very long.
