This will last a lifetime!I use it in all my jams and preserves (except in mountain ash berry jelly(!), cranberry sauce and lingonberry preserve - they all have natural Benzoic acid so no need for it there...).Have made 23 lbs of blueberry jam... so far...Very small amount needed when making fruit preserves: usually 0.5 grams per 1000 grams of fruit or preserve (depending on the fruit). Check your recipes or on the web!I weigh it up on a scale that handles weights of this small range - then I put it in a lab-glass mortar and grind it to a fine powder with 0.5 tsp white sugar - the sugar helps during grinding. Grinding it up helps a lot to "spread it" in the preserve you are making!Mix a small amount of preserve with the ground Benzoic acid/sugarmix and then add this to the rest of the preserve you are making. Do NOT let the preserve boil again: the Benzoic acid will give off a bitter flavor if you do - nothing dangerous, but less tasty.Immediately transfer your preserve to sterilized jars, seal, and process in a hot water bath as per the recommendations of your recipe.NO NEED TO BUY expensive preservatives/additives in your grocery store or hardware store's canning section!Happy cooking!

I used this USP Benzoic acid to convert my nicotine freebase to nicotine salt for vaping. (Please don't do this unless you know what you're doing.) The nic salt created has no odor and vapes smoothly. Great product.
