I was raised in the Apollo, PA area and have lived there most of my life so this book really means something to me. While I wasn't born when NUMEC was in business I remember the Babcock & Wilcox days very well. I read this book to learn something new about the whole mess that NUMEC, B & W, and the government got us residents into. While Mr. Smith's argument is very persuasive that the missing nuclear material went to build up Israel's arsenal, I have to read more to be convinced. Regardless of where it went, the true crime is what NUMEC, Atlantic-Richfield, and Babcock & Wilcox did to people in the Kiski Valley portion of Pennsylvania. I'm still waiting for a book to be written about that.

Zionists stole nuclear material and were sloppy in doing it costing the american taxpayers half a billion so far in cleanup
A really in depth look at a situation that is hidden from the public.

Good read. I was convinced early on that Shapiro had indeed diverted HEU to Isreal. Then chapter after chapter it was hammered in...Too bad little effort was put toward non-proliferation by the U.S. Government and it's agencies. The Israeli lobby is a strong and dangerous force.

Amazing investigative work
Amazing investigative work. Not an easy read. Not for the beginner investigating Zionism. But a valuable resource on this one aspect of Zionist deception and intrigue, namely the clandestine development of nuclear weapons by Israel and the various undercover illegal manipulations- smuggling, front company- which contributed. As I write this Israel has just completed three weeks of wanton murder of civilians in Gaza. As tragic as this episode has been, there is evidence that the tide is turning, with massive demonstrations here in American and around the globe, and even statements by some politicians around the globe condemning Israel's actions. As the American public begins to suspect that Israel is not America's ally, as generations have been taught, researchers like Grant Smith are extremely important as they are providing the information necessary for the public to form their own opinions independent of the hasbara nonsense endlessly regurgitated by the corporate media, and in the case of this book, a story which has been lacking in other presentations and is largely unknown. In addition to exposing how weapons-grade uranium was illegally diverted to Israel from America, Grant also exposes how the front company involved in this illegal diversion, NUMEC, failed to insure the health and safety of its workers, and poisoned its local environment. The story that Grant skillfully delivers in this book is just one of many in which Zionist zealots thumb their noses at rule of law and basic human decency, with full cooperation on the part of the US government. But it is a story essential to know and understand, as Israel today does indeed have a stockpile of nuclear weapons, and is crazy enough, God forbid, to use them. Highly recommended.

The elephant in the room
I wasnt yet born when much of this took place but grew up under the threat of global nuclear war. In my mind, it was USSR vs USA. I never imagined there were this many players or this many enemies, all looking to join the nuclear club or Israel was willing to risk its ties to the US in order to join.

How Israel got the bomb
I am surprised to see that this book has not gotten more attention. It is an excellent, well - researched account of how Israel, acting through American Jewish intermediaries, diverted (stole) the enriched uranium used to make Israel's first nuclear weapon. It also outlines how powerful people subverted the investigation.Smith uses recently declassified investigative material from the FBI, AEC, and CIA. His sources are impeccable and he uses them fairly. The only disappointment is that none of the principals ever was arrested and forced to talk, so we (like the FBI) are always outside looking in. But still and all, he makes clear the outlines of what happened, and how it happened, and who happened it.Highly recommended.
