Excellent source for understanding our current world
The book was for a class on Cultural Geography. A bit expensive but....I didn't resell because it is one I will peruse and reference over and over. It looks at the subject through migration patterns, folk and popular culture, languages, religion and physical geography and how all are related. Although an excellent book for a class, it is also one world travelers would gain a lot of understanding from.

Surprised in a good way
This was actually a decent textbook, I was pleasantly surprised. Visually this looks like the high school textbooks that I remember from a long time ago, and yet the writing was clear, the content was in-depth, and the book covered many topics that affect people around the globe (rather than just focusing on Europe or the US). I especially appreciated the support structures such as vocab guides, review questions, and charts, diagrams, and other images.

So many errors...
I would not be surprised if, in the final chapter of this textbook, I find every single page has at least one mistake. As I've progressed through the chapters, I've noticed more and more that there are typos and mistakes that the editor of this book did not catch. For example, in Chapter 9: Development, on pages 308-309, there are three mistakes I've found. Two have to do with the map of Brazil. A description in the text states that wealth is highest in Brazil along the Atlantic coast instead of in the interior, but instead shows that wealth is concentrated in the southern half of Brazil, with most of that wealth being concentrated on the Atlantic coast and in Brasilia. Second, there are three maps shown on this page: Brazil, China, and Mexico (in that order from top to bottom). However, the description states that Brazil is in the center and China is above it. The third mistake has to do with the description of a bubble graph; though it only employs two colors to describe developed countries (red) and developing countries (blue), the description states that it divides developing countries up into yellow, green, and blue bubbles depending on their stage of development. I can only hope that the money spent paying for new books of this edition go towards hiring an editor that is competent in their job. With that being said, the information is easily accessible; if not for the mistakes I keep finding, I probably would have given this textbook five stars.

Love the binder version!
Arrived in perfect condition! Much cheaper and more convenient than a tradition book. I just put some page protectors around it and I'm good to go! It's a textbook, so nothing terribly exciting!

Meh
I absolutely hated this class. First "B" I've made in a while. The online content was very difficult for this colorblind student. So many graphs, etc that was color coded. Otherwise the book itself is very well written and I did learn a lot. Obviously people don't buy these books for enjoyment but for a degree requirement. Have fun with that.

Good Textbook
Save money and buy this. Even if you need an edition or two higher than this it's going to be the same information.
