Multipurpose - Light(ish) Durable, waterproof Tarp
I have purchased two versions of this tarp, the large 10x16 foot and the small 10x10 foot. I have had the 10x16 tarp since 2021 and have used it over 10 times. I live in the pacific Northwest, and commonly camp in wet and cold conditions. I have used this tarp in both summer to keep cool, and winter to keep warm. The reflective inside does a good job reflecting heat creating a barrier against the sun, or for keeping the heat in. My small tarp I use as part of my SAR kit. It is perfect size for a 6'5" person in a mountain man modified holden configuration. I typically use part of the tarp as a ground cloth. To prevent tear outs I use small bungies that keep things tight and reduces damage from high winds. In my last campout, it was used to revive two hypothermic campers who's kelty tarp failed to maintain waterproof or structure. The large tarp has center ties, but the small tarp only has ties on each corner and halfway on each edge (8 total). The material is of good quality, and everything is nicely sewn and sealed. I have not had any problems with leaking, even on parts that have been used as a ground cloth. The lines that come with them are retro-reflective striped, and very visible. The stakes are good quality aluminum stakes, much better than the bent steel things that come with many cheap tents at the same weight. Mine came with a cord and stake bag, and a nicely sized bag to store the tarp in. I would recommend this tarp, it has held up to high winds, torrential downpours, and 100F days with almost no wear.

A good value
There's no way to tell how this will hold up over the years but it appears well"made. The tie out points are reinforced fairly well. I like that there are a number of tie out points in the sides and center points. The colors are darker than they appear in the photos here. The underside is silvery. Not Mylar. I've never seen this sort of fabric. I have not had it in the rain yet. I will post again with an update after some rain experience. Overall it's a good value when you look at what the more reputable brands like Kelty and so forth are pricing tarps at. It's not the lightest material out there, for sure, but it seems light enough for anything but ultralight backpacking. The stakes are simple aluminum but they are rugged... not thin little skewers. I was also surprised that the included guy lines are actually good quality. I was planning on throwing those away but they will suffice nicely. UPDATE: Very waterproof. Water beads up on top surface....no dampness below. Just wish that a 12 foot width was available. UPDATE AUG 2010:. Love these tarps have four now...one has been up since January 2022 in snow climate two have been up all summer. Will they last five years like this? Probably not. Will they last ten years if you go on a few trips a year? For sure. The 10x13 also has tie-out points on two sides. In other words, if you hang the tarp on the ridge, and look at it from above, there's a tie-out point on the left side of the ridge and on the right side. Seams are well-sealed and do not leak. For $40, it's a fantastic value. I replace the stakes with extruded aluminum ones.... stronger. But the guy lines they give you are really good. I do wish they had a 12x12 but that means using fabric that's 6' wide....and that's not as inexpensive as using 5' goods.

Good product but I don’t use anymore.
This a good fly but I have moved on. It does exactly what it’s marketed to do and that’s a good thing. I like the color and the fact it has a reflective side on it. A big bonus for camping in cooler temps. Here’s y I don’t use it. I replaced it with a cheap tarp. Tarp is lighter, cheaper, and does the exact same thing (mostly). Plus there’s multiple colors and if I burn a hole in it or damage it in some way which is inevitable, who cares I’ll get another. The damaged one will get recycled into something for yard work like covering equipment or firewood or putting dirt or rocks or debris on to ease cleanup after digging holes or whatever.

Stayed dry after 12 hours of steady rain!
Excellent tarp for the price. I researched a lot of tarps before selecting this one. Happy with my decision. The 10' x 10' (3m x 3m) is perfect size for my eno doublenest hammock. Really like putting the front size up in porch mode with my trekking pole on the center loop as in the pictures. Haven't used it in the rain yet but I can tell without a doubt it would perform great. The stiching is well done, grommets are decent quality, and I'm actually pleasantly surprised by the quality of the guy lines (not great but not bad either). I recommend replacing the stakes for something more sturdy but they'll get the job done. It's a little on the jeavy side for backpacking but it will work, just not geared towards the ultralight crowd. Overall, great tarp, I would recommend this product to others. EDIT: got a chance to use this tarp in a good steady rain. Rained on me for a solid 12 hours, not a DROP inside. Everything held up great, and I'm definitely impressed. Will be using this on more trips to come no doubt.

Waterproof and Lightweight
I use this to cover my tent and create a small dry front porch area when there is rain in the forecast. Took some work to set up the first time with all the lines, but once done, worked great to keep me dry and give me somewhere to sit outside when raining. Packs up pretty small and totally waterproof. It's a very lightweight material which is good for packing and carrying, but means it may not hold up a long time if you use it constantly. But can't be beat for the price.

Perfect for a sunshade
I purchased this product to create a sunshade outside my west facing screened porch. The coolaroo material for sunshades is a bit heavy and since I wanted to connect it to the soffit and our nearby privacy fence, I needed something lightweight with multiple tie points for thin cords. This product is perfect as it blocks the harsh/blinding sun, but allows diffused light so it has a light and airy effect. It has cooled off our porch by 15 degrees. Five connection points on each length allows for a nice taught shade. It lasted all last season with nearly daily use and is still good to start off this season, but I am starting to see signs of weakening at the tie out seams. The color fades in constant sun, but that doesn't bother me. I bought back-ups for this product as it works so well for my purpose, I have no problem buying a new one every year or two.

Can't survive high winds
Update: was offered a full refund well past return window without me even asking. Exceptional and proactive customer service. I've increased my rating from 1 to 3 stars to reflect that, but didn't increase to 5 as the product itself still didn't work. Amazing company though, they are 5 stars for sure! Original review: Was pretty good while it lasted. Certainly didn't survive the "high winds" here. Developed a massive tear that I've now tried to patch. Not sure how much I'll trust it going forward now. Didn't even survive the summer season. Also had an area that leaked from pretty early on where the stitching was in the middle top section. Applied some of the patch to that area also. Really was hoping for better durability overall.
