This is an exceptional pocket edition for travelers to take on a Holy Land tour. It especially highlights National Park lands which are neglected in many travel books. Having traveled to this land on eight occasions, I found the one with Luker to be the most inspring, spiritual and informative of all. He sights exceptional references of how to go and who to contact. I found him to be limited in his current update and accepdtance of New Testament scholarship. As a Lutheran he is pretty conservative in his approach. This in no way takes away from the personal and scholarly insights he provides. He also provides sound advice on where to stay, dine and visit. A valualbe volumne for those who desire to travel and those who desire to review their travel to the Holy Land.

wonderful book, I had the priviledge of going on a 2 week visit in Israel in Jan. with Dr Luker, the book is exactly what we saw and if I had read the book prior to the trip, I would have understood more of what I saw and experienced. What an awesome experience to read and to actually see the land where Jesus lived and taught. Makes the Bible so real, and made my faith and belief so much stronger.

My wife and I just completed a two-week pilgrimage to the Holy Land with Dr. Luker as the tour leader and subject matter expert. Although not required, we used this book as the source of information to familiarize ourselves with each area to be visited before doing so. The material contained in the book was invaluable in preparing us to be able to maximize our learning experience as we visited each site. I would highly recommend it.

Seems very comprehensive and good. One quibble. I wish there was a larger map in the book to locate all the places mentioned.

This is a small book and easily fits in a purse. That does mean that the font is on the small side. It has photos and maps and gives concise history and background of all the sites so it is good to take along on your tour. It does NOT contain any info about hotels, restaurants, etc.

We ordered this book after watching the videos from EO tours in preparing for our trip to the Holy Land. We have also read several other books about Holy Land Tours. ThIs book is the best for our purposes. It is very informative. It is small, so its easisly packed for the plane and on the bus as we tour.

This is a very good go to book full of all the info you need. He tells you in detail how to view the sights and were to go. The book is a good size for carrying in a purse or bag. This is a must have tool!!!
