Perfect guide! It has a lot of information about so many things , and really like a guide . It help me to choose the best place to visit for me in short period of time , and I will use it in my next long trip in RIO for sure , because I haven't visited even half of them.

Solid guide. Came in handy when I needed some guidance and inspiration as to what to explore next. TripAdvisor is still my go-to though.

I was skeptical, but this guide turned out to be SUPER useful. The restaurant recommendations were great, the neighborhood maps were detailed and precise, and it helped me find some lovely gems (like a fabulous bookstore in Ipanema) that I would have missed otherwise. I carried it with me (surreptitiously) every day in Rio.

Rio de Janeiro is my only destination. I went to the library and took out every book on Rio and Brazil. I compared them all for my tourist needs and this one was the best. It even had the carnival schedule.

Very well written. Lots of lists, (which come in handy), and photos. The layout makes it much easier to grasp the info faster and form a plan, than other books. Will be buying only Lonely Planet from now on.

We haven't been to Rio yet but this book is well written and covers everything most travelers will need to know.

This book was very helpful and allowed me to focus on the neighborhood I was in and to explore other places. Rio was too big to see it all, I differently will be coming back.
